Yikes! Why so slow?

I spent $10 of my hard earned cash (he he) on domain mapping yesterday evening. Ever since, my blog has been really slow and my header sometimes doesn’t even load. Help?

I’ve been noticing that it’s been slow over the past 24 hours as well. It might be a domain redirect thing, or it might be all of WordPress.

It’s been slow here, too. They’re working on it and, I believe, they fixed it now. Give it a few more hours to “take” across all the sites and we should be back to our usual Zippiness.

Ehh I hope so…a lot of my pictures either won’t show up at all, or will be white boxes with little red X’s. It’s very frustrating.

This is about your images. I am using a firefox 2 browser. I have looked at your blog twice now and I have no difficulty seeing any of the images, including your photo header. They load very quickly. Is it possible that you have a browser issue?

I don’t think so. I’ve tried a few different computers and have had many complaints from my readers.

WordPress.com Avatars were loading and then disappearing on my site for awhile. My Avatar even disappeared so I had to go into my User area re-upload it.

I host all my images elsewhere so I can’t address that one.

Avatars are back on on my site, it seems.

Hmmm…maybe it is my browser then. All of the avatars on this thread, for example, are white boxes with red X’s.

It looks fine. It took 18.5s to load, though. That’s the problem I’ve been having today. Really slow sever page load times. They’re working on it.

Did you force a refresh? SHIFT+CLICK on RELOAD/REFRESH button in your browser toolbar. It sounds like your browser is loading the old problem page instead of the fixed and updated page.

You have posted 5 times and each time I have clicked on your site. It loaded quickly. I saw all the photos in question almost instantaneously and also your photo header. I use a firefox 2 browser. I think boles may be right. You may need to force clear your browser.

I did “force clear” my browser. I even shut down my computer. My blog (and a few others) still loads veerrryyy slowwwlllly AND quite a few of the avatars on this forum aren’t appearing.

Forums seem fine now but I’m getting red X’s on occasion. That may be me though as I’m clicking through screens.

It’s not you. Your avatar showed up fine in another thread thirty seconds ago, but it’s not here now (you look more reddish, and kind of X-shaped).

fwdmovie, your pix all show up, and your blog loaded quickly.

I got some complaints that readers couldn’t get into my blog yesterday; got error notices instead, page wouldn’t load. Hopefully this is fixed now.

I’m still getting the red timeout X’s on teh avatars this afternoon. I saw a sticky thread earlier about the slowness issue but it’s disappeared.

So….
