Yoast SEO Plugin
-
Yoast SEO is the most widely used and relied upon plugin in order to optimise your blog’s SEO. All other blog hosts support this plugin and I know many people who have migrated their blogs in order to use it as wordpress don’t use it. It would be beneficial to all bloggers and beneficial to the site itself as bloggers would not feel the need to migrate.

We are all aware of the plugin. Staff review all requests and will notify you if they decide to add it. However, I strongly suggest that you do not hold your breath on this one.

The plugin is over-rated and I never use it. I get numerous clients who think that they have the perfect website because of it yet are mystified when I show them where the plugin lets them down. Mainly associated with how the plugin shows the keyword density etc.
Don’t fret over it; you don’t need it

Agreed 100%. Those who rely on plugins never ever learn even the most basic SEO practices. -
Hi there,
To add to what @timethief and @cruisez already said, everything that Yoast does is already included in WordPress.com by default. The only thing Yoast has that we don’t is the checklist that tells you how good your on-page SEO is while you’re writing a post, and at best that feature on Yoast provides you with an educated guess rather than a definitive guideline.
I suggest you read through the links @timethief provided to get a good idea of exactly how we handle SEO on WordPress.com, and what you can do to make the most of your on-site SEO.
