Yoko Theme problem
-
Hi. I’m trying to update a new site I’m creating using the Yoko Theme (not yet public). It was fine this morning but this afternoon although I can see content in the Text Editor the pages are blank! I’ve never seen this before. I’m using Chrome and I don’t have the CSS upgrade so haven’t changed any CSS. It’s not a problem on sites with other Themes I have. Many thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry I should have clarified: the pages are blank in the Visual Editor, but Ok when you do View Page.

Hi there, could you please give me a link to the specific site so I can take a look, since you have quite a few? Thanks!

Thanks! I spot-checked a bunch of your pages in Chrome and I’m able to see their content in the Visual Editor.
Could you please try turning off all your Chrome extensions and restarting the browser? Here are instructions for doing that:

Scroll down to the section called “Temporarily disable extensions.”
If the problem goes away, you can try reactivating the extensions one-by-one to find the culprit.
If deactivating all your extensions has no effect, could you please try another browser like Firefox and let me know if the problem appears there too? Thanks!

Hi. I’ve disabled the extensions in Chrome but the problem didn’t go away. In Internet Explorer the problem is worse, there is no Visual Editor or Text Editor tab at all and it’s also affecting sites with other themes too. I could send you some screenshots if that would help and you can give me a method to do so. This is getting very scary! Thanks for your help.

Here are some things to try next:
1. Are you running security software on your PC that you might be able to disable temporarily to see if it’s interfering?
2. Would you be able to check your site on another computer and let me know what you see?
3. If you’re using a laptop, could you check your site from another location using another ISP (Internet Service Provider) and let me know how it goes?
4. Could you please try running a traceroute and paste the results into a reply here:
a. (Windows 7 or Vista) From the Start Menu, in the search field, type cmd, then press ENTER to open a Command Prompt window.
b. (Previous versions of Windows) From the Start menu, click Start > Run, type in cmd and hit ENTER.
c. Type in “tracert s0.wp.com” (without quotes) and press ENTER.
d. When it has finished, and even if it looks as though it is going to hang, allow it to finish, right click in window and select MARK. Then, select all of the text in the command prompt window and press ENTER.
d. Paste it in your reply.
Thanks!

Many thanks for your help and patience, it’s really appreciated. I’m testing things out. It’s difficult as sometimes one Theme works fine, a few hours later it doesn’t, then it’s OK again. I can’t spot a pattern yet! I’ll get back to you, probably in a few days to see what does/doesn’t settle down to update progress.

Hi again. Just to report back the problem seems to have fixed itself now … I have no idea how though. It started working with other themes, Yoko was still a problem, then yesterday I tried my Yoko site again and it was OK. Very weird! But thank you again for your prompt reply and help.

You’re very welcome. If the problem crops up again, some of the troubleshooting steps below will be helpful at that time – but I hope they won’t be necessary. :-)
