My first attempt at using the new editor and it was a mess. I miss a lot of missing features but managed to cobble something together. However when I added some new categories, I got a notice that read, “Updating failed. Sorry, you are not allowed to assign the provided terms.” Whatever the problem was wasn’t highlighted, so I had to just give up and not add several categories.
I also can’t find out to edit the sidebar anymore, and one of my photos has disappeared so I want to replace it.

Hi there,
First, clear your browser cache, and unplug your modem/router for a few seconds to clear its cache. The “Updating failed” error indicates a network call from your browser to our servers is not going through, and is not related to which editor you’re using – that same error can occur in the Customizer, or any of the My Sites or WP-Admin pages where you can make changes that need to be saved to our servers.
Clearing the cache should resolve that.

Do you mean the widgets sidebar on your site? Those are still managed from the Widgets section in the Customizer. Click on My Site ->Design ->Customize ->Widgets:

Thank you! I found the widgets sidebar. I had forgotten that the widget images have to be stored elsewhere and I had deleted that image from my website. I put it back and all is well. I’ll save the info about the updating failed for next time I add a post. Thanks again!
