HELLO i am trying to renew for ERICIZMINE.COM – Feb. 01, 2017 as usual, it is not letting me choose the renew again this year, as before Angela passed away 3 years ago and as an admin on the site(kleannhouse) i take care of it and i have linked my credit card but it is not atumatically renewing, what am i doing wrong so this is automatic? please let me know soonest. thank you Kristie Yamber (kleannhouse)

Hi there,
It is not possible to renew a domain that you don’t own. That domain is owned by the username, ericizmine, so only that user can renew the domain.
Is that the user that is deceased? If so, you will need to try and gain access to their account, as explained here:
The regulations governing domain ownership has become much more strict since December 2016, and if you don’t have access to the account that owns the domain it means you have no ability to make any changes to the domain whatsoever. Regaining access to the account in question is the best course of action if you want to regain control of this domain.

i can do everything on the site but pay for the domain like i have for the last 2 years as i am administrator. I will try to see if her family has her old password and go that route. if i need more help i will let you know. thank you kristie -
An admin can do everthing, yes, except administer upgrades owned by another user.
If ericizmine’s email account still exists and you can access that, you can use it to reset the password. Then you can transfer the domain and even ownership of the site to another admin on the site.
However, if you can’t gain access to the account that way, our Account Recovery or Deceased User processes are the only ways to gain control over the domain.

If you control the email address for the ericizmine account, you should then be able to reset the password as well. Just to confirm, it’s not the same email as you’re using for the kleannhouse account, correct?
To reset the password, log out of this account and clear your browser cookies, and then type the ericizmine username or the email address in the lost password form. That will send you a link to reset the password, and once you’re in you can transfer the site and all upgrades on it to your account:

i have changed kleannhouse’s email but it still does not allow me to do anything. i have asked the family for help. they are looking for me, i have a question, how will i not loose the domain name if i do not get this done in time? can i re-open it once it is lost after non payment? is there anything you guys can do from your side. i know that they have help me in the past since there was so many issues. i have saved all the emails thanks Kristie

Changing this account’s email won’t allow you to log into or reset the password on a different account. You’ll need access to ericizmine’s email address to reset the password.

It looks like you managed to change the ericizmine account’s email address a few hours after your last reply, and the domain has been renewed.
I would recommend, if you can now log into that account, that you transfer the domain and site ownership over to your account using the instructions I gave above. That is the only way to avoid you having this problem again next year.
In the past we were able to let you renew the domain from a different account, but we can’t do that any more, so this is the safest option.
