You click on a photo and get taken to a completely random other photo

  Go to this post and click on any photo except the first. You think you’ll get taken to a full-size view of the photo but you end up at a totally different photo. Colossal bug.

  You have a formatting error in the very top image which has an unclosed link (A) tag which is affecting all the following images. Try removing the image.

  You may want to look in your Dashboard to see if this setting is checked. “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/writing-settings/#writing-settings If not, you’ll want to.

  I did what you said but the problem remains unchanged.

  I deleted the photo, then re-inserted it, and changed that Dashboard setting.

  When I first hovered my mouse over each image after the top image, all the following images linked to fire-island-01.jpg.

  But apparently more than one image link is now involved. Now the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th images link to fire-island-01.jpg and I believe it’s still a problem with an open A tag somewhere.

  Did you insert your images from the Media Library one-by-one or all at once? Were these the instructions you followed? http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/uploading-images/

  Also, I don’t recall if you said you are using the Classic Post Editor in your site’s Dashboard or using the New Post Editor in the New Dash.

  Personally, I’d try recreating the post. Open up the Text Editor and remove all the image references save your post and then re-insert the images following the Support doc instructions.

  Just one other thing: These forums are mostly peer-to-peer. You’ve received help from some of the most veteran and knowledgeable forum volunteers here. Please be aware of your tone when replying to others, otherwise you might find that few people will be willing to help you.
