  Herlp! I simply can not invite new users to my site as authors. This is the very first time that it happens – I have kind of 40 WordPress sites, it never ocurred something like this before. It’s impossible to invite people either in the classic interface or the default interface. In the classic interface I receive the message ‘You do not have the proper permissions to perform this action’ and in the default interface ‘Sorry, we couldn’t process your invitations. Please try again later.’ My site preliminaresdeagosto.wordpress.com was private so I turn it to public to see what happens, but the bug still persists. Any help, please?

  Hi there – It looks like you may have been trying to add a group of users all at once. Did you try adding only one user? What you’re describing does sound like unexpected behavior, so try the following please:
  
  1. Clear your web browser’s saved cache.
  2. Restart your web browser.
  3. Try inviting one new user to your site and let us know how that goes.
