You don't have any WordPress sites yet. Would you like to start one?

This is a question about an EXISTING website that I have decided to use as my blog, complete with theme, classic editor and customizer It was working fine when my computer use was with a tablet, but 5 days ago, I got a new computer, and that’s when I went to my site like I had and the site displayed, but I wasn’t able to get in and modify because this is the error message I got when I attempted anything (like modify an existing post: You don’t have any WordPress sites yet. Would you like to start one?

I checked wordpress.com (where you put in your ID and they text you a OTP) to get into your account, but that option was available. What can I do? Writing for my healthcare advice keeps me sane, and I’m going crazy! Any advice?

  • Hi there,

Did you see my colleague’s reply to you two days ago in https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/no-site-15/, as well as the number of replies by members of our community to your other threads you’ve created?

The site at nursesexplain.wordpress.com does not belong to the elmojon6 account you’re currently logged into. To access that site, you need to log out of this account, and log back in as the account that owns the site.

If you don’t remember the login details for the correct account, please follow our account recovery process at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ so we can help you regain access.

If you have any questions, please ask them by replying to this thread, rather than creating another new thread.

No, I didn’t see your colleague’s response of two days ago. I won’t be following the account recovery process because they presupposed knowledge oI things I didn’t know and also required a URL sent to me 11 years ago. I keep excellent records but that was 5 computers ago. Also, I looked at the directions before and they would require I spend half a day recovering credentials.. Anyway, there should be no need to recover the account, because I didn’t lose it (it looks like wp did). It is there for all to see at https://nursesexplain.wordpress.com/

For some reason that (elmojon6) was the ID given it when I attempted to comment on someone’s post. My ID is teamrns.

As far as login details, I always logged in at wordpress.com with teamrns and received the one-time password and was able to chose one of 4 sites that I owned. Now, it is down to one or two sites and I have the PW to teamrns

“You don’t have any WordPress sites yet. Would you like to start one?” Why in God’s green’s earth would that appear? All one has to do is see the age of some of the posts to realize the age of this site.

  • Hello Anne,

Anyway, there should be no need to recover the account, because I didn’t lose it (it looks like wp did). It is there for all to see at https://nursesexplain.wordpress.com/

To clarify, you’d need to recover access to the account. The account wouldn’t expire or be deleted unless requested.

This is why we would suggest following the account recovery process.

For some reason that (elmojon6) was the ID given it when I attempted to comment on someone’s post. My ID is teamrns….“You don’t have any WordPress sites yet. It sounds like you’re logged into a different account, whereby you wouldn’t see the sites created.

Are you able to access the underlining email address connected to the desired account? This will help to determine next steps.

The e-mail address I used when I set up the account is (email visible only to moderators and staff) and I type it in the EXACT way I’ve always typed it in, until someone tacked .wordpress.com on the tail of the URL of http://www.nursesexplain.com

It is either (email visible only to moderators and staff). or on the very outside chance it could be my husband’s email of (email visible only to moderators and staff) or my alternate gmail accoount of (email visible only to moderators and staff). But, I’ve always gotten email directed by wordpress to

A simple trick to find out which email address is connected to that site is by commenting on your most recent post you created only a month ago, https://nursesexplain.wordpress.com/2022/06/22/oh-my-gosh/. Next step: check all your email addressess to find out to which email it has been send.

Hello again, nursesexplain.com currently redirects to nursesexplain.wordpress.com

The author on that site is https://nursesexplain.wordpress.com/author/teamrns/ not the account you are logged in with now and posting to these forums.

As far as login details, I always logged in at wordpress.com with teamrns and received the one-time password and was able to chose one of 4 sites that I owned. Now, it is down to one or two sites and I have the PW to teamrns

Then first go to your account profile page and completely log out of this account elmojon6 and make sure to close any other open browser tabs beforehand. https://wordpress.com/me/ The log out is on the left side of that page.

Next, clear your browser’s cache and cookies, or alternatively open a private browsing or incognito browser window and log back in with the teamrns account.
