You may also try your search at Google
-
Recently when searching the forums, I’ve clicked on the link at the bottom of the forum search results page where it says, “You may also try your search at Google”.
In the past clicking this link brought me to Google where not only the link “site:https://en.forums.wordpress.com/” appeared in the search bar, but also the keyword or keywords of my forum search.
This is no longer happening. The only thing that appears in the Google search bar is the forums site address.
Truly inconvenient, but I tend to believe this is a result of moving the forums to https? Any confirmation or input welcome.

That is so weird. It has never happened to me. I have never even seen a “You may also try your search at Google” link at the bottom of search results.

tt-This is at the very bottom of the forums search results page when I do a forum search (screenshot).
Not carrying over the search term to the Google search is a definite step down in productivity.
Hope someone has some insight to share.

Yep!
Two days ago I tried to search with Google and are useless.
Something has changed in the forums and worse …I have never even seen a “You may also try your search at Google” link at the bottom of search results.
TT: I always saw it and used it. And it helps much in the past, not now.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll check to see what we can do. I’ll be back with an update as soon as I have one.

Wow! I simply have a tab open to Google search at all times when answering questions here and have never even noticed the link.

What’s convenient (once again!!) is having the search term carry over to Google.
I’m sure you can guess what I usually search for the most in yon forums. :)
