You need to change your comment management policy.

You need to change your comment management policy. A person should be able to delete comments made on other blogs. Sometimes comments are made in the heat of passion, offhandedly, or without all the information. And many months or years later, if the commenter does not feel that way anymore, and would amend, edit, or delete the sentiment, there is no way to do so. If internet comments are forever, who wants to make them? They are not meant to be published memoirs, but often merely anonymous missives that should be as disposable as any random anecdote would be.
I will be deleting my wordpress.com account because I will not support irresponsible commenting policy from an organization that should understand internet commenting platform responsibilities more than almost anyone else.
Oh wait… of course, your policy is that your accounts CANNOT BE DELETED. Does any other mainstream blogging or networking site have this policy? No. On Twitter or Tumblr or Facebook, you can delete your account. But here, at WordPress, regret is forever. I regret getting involved with your strange entanglements. Get with it, and by “it,” I refer to the 21st Century’s notion of free electronic services accounts.
Please make comments deletable by the commenter, regardless of where they are hosted. And then make accounts deletable because; Times change. What had a purpose at one time may now be most sensibly scrapped. To not have a mechanism to do so is both pompous and thoughtless.

From your commenting policy:
Can I edit comments I left on someone else’s blog? No. It is not possible to edit or delete any comments you have left on other WordPress.com blogs. Blog owners are in full control of the comments on their blogs, so you can try contacting the blog owner and ask them to edit or delete a comment for you. If the blog owner has not posted any contact information, you can try leaving a short comment asking how to contact them directly.

Hello,
I agree that users should be able to edit their comments, and delete their accounts.
I am still surprised by how many websites/services still do not let users delete their accounts, and it surprises me even more when a company/organization like WordPress/Automattic does not let you delete accounts.
Especially now-a-days with the many hackings/security breaches/intelligence agency spying/et cetera going on, and so I think that people should be able to delete their accounts to minimize the amount of data/information/et cetera that they have scattered around the internet/offline; but that is just my opinion.
Thank you,
