The ad that WordPress put on my blog is offensive. It’s a whiskey ad and that is against my religion.

If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then provided you see this small About These Ads link http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/ what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising. To eliminate all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs we can purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

Also note that ads can appear that are not placed by WordPress.com. They are found in adware in many free downloads from the internet and in browser add-ons. WordPress.com does not use text enhance or text link ads or pop-up ads or links in post text or comments. If you are seeing those then that’s a browser-ad-on issue, or in some cases, it’s embedded into free games, toolbars, etc. downloaded from the internet.

If you use the information at the sites I linked to and still see ads that do not have the About These Ads link http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/ then please post screenshot http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ Upload it to your Media Library, and start a thread in the support forums https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. Then type modlook into the sidebar.
