You said I could keep both blogs as free ones, you lied!
-
I have two blogs. Google can’t even find my new one, I guess because it is under the Free plan. My older blog that I wanted to keep up until perhaps November to help readers who want to, migrate over to my new blog has now blocked my access to my own blog. I did have it registered for a while, but just wanted to keep the domain originally a free plan. I had it for 3 years and wanted to let the registration expire and go back to the Free plan as I was told. Now that the registration expired I thought AS I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES that all that would happen is that “wordpress” would be added back to the address and everything else would be untouched. I was told that the domain name is mine as long as I do not “cancel” it.
Now when I go to my old blog “itsaboutthemusic”, I am blocked in my dashboard! I can’t access anything!
My new blog is under the Free plan and I have full access, why?Unfortunately, WordPress is a monopoly. There are no other hosts and if there were I could not have the same names. It took me a month just to come up with each of them, so that is two months of careful thought and planning.
I just wanted two free plan blogs for a time. I am dissolving the old one eventually, but on my own time! I’m not sure how long I will have the new one. I wanted to give the new one a month or two to see what traffic will be like.I’m not going to waste time asking for help even though I should, because I don’t think I will get it. All I will get is “sorry, all you can do is cancel and shut it all down”.
All plans are now over thanks to the lies and mis-information I have received from WordPress!
I have asked the original problem to be looked at in both support and forums and all I got was the same ultimatum from support that shows up on my old site and blocks me. WordPress is in desperate need of transparency!
I can’t afford to “renew” and I can’t cancel because if I do that opens me up to attack and theft. I was told NOT to cancel!!I wish I could be more positive about it all, but that is just is not presented to use.
So now my only choice I guess is to shut down both blogs.Thank you very much, I and my readers appreciate it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I have two blogs. Google can’t even find my new one, I guess because it is under the Free plan.
Of which site are you speaking? No upgrades are needed to have a new site show up in Google searches, but it can take up to two months for search engines to index any new website on the web, and then only if you regularly post new content. This is in no way unique to WordPress sites.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
My older blog that I wanted to keep up until perhaps November to help readers who want to, migrate over to my new blog has now blocked my access to my own blog.
Now that the registration expired I thought AS I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES that all that would happen is that “wordpress” would be added back to the address and everything else would be untouched.
Your site, itsaboutthemusicblog.com, is currently inaccessible because the domain has expired, but it has not been removed from your account yet. The moment the domain is completely removed your site will be accessible at the free address again. You can also make this happen immediately by going to My Site ->Domains and switching the primary domain of your site back to the free address, or by going to the Purchases page and completely cancelling the domain from there.
Also note that we can move your followers from your old site to the new one for you – you don’t need to wait for your readers to discover your new site. If you want us to do that, please confirm the address of both the sites from and to which you want your subscribers moved.
I was told that the domain name is mine as long as I do not “cancel” it.
Where were you told that? Custom domain names are only yours for as long as you keep renewing it. Only the free WordPress.com address is yours forever unless you delete it.
Unfortunately, WordPress is a monopoly. There are no other hosts and if there were I could not have the same names
There are thousands of WordPress hosts, and scores of hosting services with non-WordPress CMS’s, Wix, Weebly, Squarespace and Medium being the most popular. You won’t be able to use your WordPress.com address with them, as the WordPress.com domain name is our property and subdomains on that domain can only be used with us. However, if you own a custom domain you can easily transfer it to any other service to use it there instead.
You’ll find the transfer domain option if you go to My Site ->Domains for your custom domain, though please note that your domain is almost at the end of the expiration grace period. Once it reaches the end of that period it will not be possible to transfer it without renewing it first.

Google not finding my new site is the least of my concerns right now.
I’m really confused about “canceling” and moving the site to the free plan, which has already been done at least a month before expiration. I do not understand what you are telling me there. This is ludacris, I need a phone call or something to straighten this mess out. This email/forum shit is not working for this.
I feel like i am being blindfolded and spun around.I’m not sure it is legal or at least wise to abruptly move my subscribers and such to the new site against their wishes. I wanted to let them decide.
I don’t have nor care about custom domains. Now I am told if I cancel that the free domain will no longer be mine and that anyone will ill intent (and there are plenty) can grab it and start speaking for me with ugliness making it look like it is me. It’s like identity theft only seems to be legal on the internet. Had I known this would happen I never would have even started a site!
I am paralyzed at this point, I don’t know what to do. I don’t have money to waste. I really don’t know what is happening anymore or what to do. I am extremely lost. I’m at the point that I don’t think I even want my new blog I just launched anymore.

Ok, I just did the switch back to primary, but now that may have killed my new site, because it has a different address. So now the link in my article announcing the new site will not work?
It may be even worse now. I’m afraid to try to access my new site, I bet I have been cut off from that because it is not the primary.I’m sure I have just been made to do something destructive again.
-
Will the old blog I just set as primary again still be dropped from my account?
Will it still be taken by someone else?
What if I want my new blog to be the Primary? I think it has to be in order to function if someone clicks on the link or puts it in the address bar.
I think I’m just screwed. -
Nothing but the custom name will be dropped. I can see three sites on your account. The only reason the one site doesn’t show up for visitors right now is because it still has an expired domain on it.
If you want to use the custom domain, I recommend renewing it as soon as possible so it does not go into redemption:
If you are positive you won’t want the custom domain, you can remove it from the account so the site shows up again.
You can renew or remove the domain here:

I’m really confused.
The third site magicmusic something is not used. It just became a place holder so not worried about that.
I am not worried about retaining the “custom” domain name and don’t mind going back to the free domain. I was told to set it as Primary and did so, but I don’t think you can have 2 Primaries. So I am sure I screwed my new site doing that.
If I remove the site from my account won’t it all be deleted and everything lost! It will not even have an address?! I don’t understand. I feel like you are asking me to destroy everything. I will if I must, but your instructions are a coin toss it seems.
Everyone here seems rather deceptive. I am struggling to trust anything right now.All I wanted was my new site up on free plan and the old site with the custom domain to revert to the free plan, which I thought was done and then I could keep it up for a couple of months or so to allow my current readers to decide to follow to my new site and eventually take it down. I did not mean destroy immediately.
I was assured nothing dramatic would happen and now it is opposite of assurances. -
I’m probably seconds away from redemption charges or worse, so I am going to go ahead and remove the domain and shut everything down forever. I’m sure the old site will disappear from readers the second I do this, therefore it is not worth keeping the new site up (if it doesn’t also disappear automatically as well).
I WILL NEVER HAVE A WEBSITE/BLOG AGAIN! IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE EVER STARTING ONE!
-
You only get charged for redemption if you decide you want the domain.
I can see now that you’ve removed the expired domain, both sites are active and functioning just fine. Let us know if you need more help.

Thank you, I will check that now, I just assumed they were gone.
I plan on shutting them both down in a bit anyway. It just is not worth it.

Thank you but blogging and such is just not worth it. It is far too difficult.
One needs a web engineering phd or something to do it right, I don’t know. That and the desire to write. I have neither.I am going to leave the sites up for a time running the risk of getting sued if someone else wants the names. If I get a notice of suit, I will take the site down immediately if I don’t take them down sooner.
The new site does not have much content and I don’t know if it will. I might put an article on it just to see, but I’m not going to go out of my way on it. I don’t care what happens anymore.
Blogging only brings misery. -
