You Tube

I’ve made 2 comments about YouTube today, and both times the initial problem was marked as resolved, even though I don’t see where it was. All of my Youtube postings no longer show up. When I go to the tag YouTube on WordPress and click on any entry – all the Youtubes don’t show either. So it isn’t just my blog. I contacted support and they advised that I empty my cache. I did that but Youtube still doesn’t work (all previous entries no longer show). The suggestions I’ve gotten from People is that they posted something and it shows. But when I clicked on the links of the entries people posted – to demonstrate that YouTube was working; I didn’t see the Youtube on those entries, either. Thanks for your help.

I had a similar problem before. Have you tried using other computer and see if it’s working? For this kind of problem, it’s always the browser issue not wordpress or youtube.

I don’t have another computer to access to figure that out :) I did clear my cache as they asked – and it didn’t resolve it. So, I guess it’s on my end? Although I know others are saying they can’t see YouTube, either :)

Since I don’t see a link to your wordpress blog, I can’t tell much whether it is working or not.

Thanks Knoizki, I’m not sure if we’re allowed to leave links; as many regulars claim it’s self-promotion or advertising/spamming or something :) But I called a friend who went to my site. He could see the You Tubes, so I must have not cleared my cache properly or something. Thanks for your help.

That’s good to know your friends can see them now.

One suggestion is to have a couple of browsers on your machine – I have IE and FF. I use FF mainly, but switch to IE from time to time to test and inspect. The other one to think of adding is Opera.

I think the problem you’re running into is a cache-related one. Try emptying your cache, logging out, restarting the compy and checking again. I have always ALWAYS found that this works.

It seems that for any given configuration there’s a top limit to the amount of YouTube video one can watch before you get that blanking out effect. If you get that, try to go to YouTube.com; if you cannot bring up that page, it’s a sign you have this specific problem.

As I said, the cure is to empty your temporary internet files and restart. FYI it seems that for some systems the maximum number of YouTubes that you can have on a page without running into this is five or six. Anything over that starts to cause this problem.

Youtube may have upgraded their player software as well. If Rain’s cache clearing works, that’s probably what you’re running into, just like the TinyMCE editor being upgraded here.
