Is anyone else having trouble linking to You Tube videos?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
What exactly seems to be happening when you try to link to a video? And what method are you using to do this?
There are a few different ways to embed a video, and the YouTube page in the Support docs should help you out.
-
My Youtube videos are also having trouble. When they are supposed to be on the blog, I get “500 Empty API response data.”
-
What happens is that when I use the url option and type in the title, the title doesn’t show up in the post. The link is also not active, it’s not clickable.
-
Have you checked out the troubleshooting suggestions here?

I find that using the shortcode works every time for me http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#embedding-with-a-shortcode -
I am having the same problem. I have gone through and the steps laid out by the pages you posted @thistimethisplace, but still nothing has worked.
-
I tagged this thread to alert Staff that there is an issue. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

@khessert
There is not blog linked to your username. Provided the blog does not contain mature content suitable for adult viewing only please link it to your username. Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes. -
-
The “500 Empty API response data.” is gone. I have gone back and checked the posts with videos in them and they are back up.

@barcncpt44 I’m glad to hear that your issue is resolved!
@birmingcabbie and @khessert, are you two still experiencing issues? If so, did you read the troubleshooting link that @thistimethisspace provided?

@ryancowles
If you are a Staff member working undercover please say so so I stop responding to this thread. -

No, Ryan Cowles isn’t staff.
If you’re still having the issue, would you please give us a link to the post or page showing the problem?
-
It is not my primary blog it is a blog for a client. Is there a chance we can email directly about this?
-
Is the client’s blog a WordPress.com blog?
If so, could you attempt to reproduce the same issue on a page on your blog so we don’t have to work through having middle men?
