YOUNOW NAME SQUAT

    Dear WordPress,
    The company I am interning for is launching a new website called “YouNow”. The username with “YouNow” has been inactive since 2009. Is there anyway I could claim that username to help promote the new site?

    There is no requirement that one has to use a username and/or blog they registered. The only alternative you have is to contact the blogger yourself if the comments are open or by using contact information and ask them to transfer the blog to you using this process > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account If the blogger cannot be contacted then WordPress.com Staff will not violate their privacy but giving your any contact information. Also note that we Volunteers do not provide email support. If you post a thread then subscribe to it in the sidebar so you can return to it when a response is posted.
