In the meanwhile, note that the keyboard shortcuts you can use to increase or decrease font (text) size on any site on the internet do work http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/19/how-to-change-font-text-size-in-your-browser/

I should have been more specific in my post. In Chrome, the font size on en.blog.wordpress.com (as well as this very forum page) stays the same regardless of zoom setting. Just checked in IE10, works fine, not sure about FF.
helper-heroponriki, for some reason, this forum’s software appended “The blog I need help with is…” to my question, I didn’t put that there. My self-hosted blog is working fine. Is that something you’d be able to remove for me?
