Your new block does not allow me to make the simple changes I want

  I would like to go back using the old interface. With these blocks, I cannot change the dimensions of pics as much as I want, nor set them as my background regardless of the pattern I am using. I am too much constrained in my work by your blocks.

  The Classic Editor is still available in WP Admin.

  There is a block called ‘Classic Block’ (you can find it by searching in the insert block search bar, or under the Formatting heading) which works in in a similar to way to the Classic Editor. You can find out more about this block here:

  Hello! You can’t add a background to most of the new block themes on WordPress.com. I think the only exception right now is Twenty-Twenty.

  But you should be able to set your image to the size you want after adding it to your post or page either by dragging the handles in the Editor itself or in the sidebar when the image block is highlighted. https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/#resizing-images

  Keep in mind that WordPress.com is changing to the Block Editor as default in the near future. To continue writing in the Classic Editor, you’ll need to go to your site’s WP Admin and click on Posts or Pages then the arrow next to Add New at the top of that page.
