Your New Editor Needs Adjustments

Hello, I want to say some things about the new BLOCKS editor

I have published and ‘page cannot be found.’ oops indeed!

I want to copy/paste from my own page which I am editing. I cannot copy it.

I want to publish, then look at it, and perhaps make changes. I cannot do that!

I WANT THE CLASSIC EDITOR IN TOTAL back. and…. I must say, I have worked for over a year on websites which I intend for commercial release. If this continues as it is, a year of my work will be wasted, plans for a better life for myself will be ruined, and I will be forced to find a different platform through which to build a website. AT BEST the pages I have will be linked from there.

Technicians are very smart and often arrogant. They assume everyone just knows how to do what they do and can understand what is behind an icon. None of this is true and the result of these past few years is, we cannot buy software to build our own pages as we could have a few years ago. Companies like yours take over the site, change things, make mistakes, pages disappear, work is ruined, and your customers quit or take flight to a different platform and provider.

I will send this letter also to Blue Host and ask them to avoid incorporating any of this. If someone wants to work with blocks, that’s their business, but foisting it upon all of us will only ruin websites and destroy much of your business.

I’ll give this a month and try it again. If it’s still impossible to deal with I’ll delete the site – too bad because it might become a money maker for your business and mine.

You must sit people down and WATCH while they write or copy/paste something into the page, and try to make it right and then copy/paste a part of it to a Post. If you’re NOT doing this you will never understand why so many people use your templates but quietly fume about how difficult using them is!

    Best regards,
    Stephen Newdell

Hi there, if you are referring to a site hosted here on WordPressdotcom, Support staff have published a guide to working with the new Editor and you can find it here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/ That guide also has a FAQ which explains how you can return to using the Classic Editor if you’ve activated it here on WordPressdotcom.

You also mentioned sending your above feedback to BlueHost.

If you are working with the standalone WordPress software on BlueHost or any other 3rd party host, and you want return to using the Classic Editor you can do so by installing the Classic Editor plugin:

    Classic Editor

If you have other questions about working with the new Editor on your self-hosted websites, please post in the forums at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums

    Hope that helps.
