Your No Ads WordPress.com upgrade

  Hi. We recently got an email about renewing our no ads upgrade for £25 on our blog. The person who got this email has left the company and their credit card cancelled. i’m an administrator on the site but can’t find this £25 option. Am i missing something.

  You are in an unfortunate position. I do not have any advice to offer and will tag this thread for Staff.

  Companies, groups and organizations of any kind do not own WordPress.COM blogs. Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

  You must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the site to be able to access the site and purchase or renew or cancel upgrades. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:

  http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  *Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.

  If you do not have the required access and someone else registered the site you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites and upgrades to your username account.

  If you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then you must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.

  Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

  Hi!
  Did you try to update the payment information?

  To do it, you can go to Manage Purchases select the upgrade you wish to update in order to view the options for managing it. Click on the Edit Payment Method button in order to review and update your payment information.

  How can it help when this username account does not own the site?
  I tagged this thread for Staff already so I do not comprehend why you tailgated me.

  Hi @timethief, how are you?

  if @jonp1234 got an email about the renewing I think he has at least access to the email of the account. Also user says he’s the admin.

  I did not tailgate you, I just replied virtually at the same time.

  Hi jonp1234,

  i’m an administrator on the site but can’t find this £25 option. Am i missing something.

  The No Ads upgrade belongs to instantatlas — a purchase can only be managed by the person who bought it which is why you are unable to see it in your account.

  instantatlas is also listed as the owner of the site. Are you able to contact them and ask if they can transfer ownership to another Administrator on the site?

  The account you are logged in to (jonp1234) is not listed as a user of instantatlas.wordpress.com. Do you have a separate WordPress.com account for logging in to the site? If you do, please can you reply logged in to that account.

  Thanks all for the help. I wasn’t sure if transferring ownership of the blog would also transfer the No Ads upgrade so I’ve taken over his account.

  If you’ve taken over his account you will now also be the owner of any purchases connected to it. It looks like you have everything sorted out but come back to me if you need any help.
