Our stats are not real time stats and take hours to update. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ and note the views and viewers take hours to update. Provided you are logged in when visiting, your own views are not recorded on any public blog you registered.
Our stats are page view stats, and please do not assume that everyone who clicks a like button actually reads the post on your blog because odds are they may not.
Also note that those who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don’t have to click into the blog unless they wish to. And, they can even comment without clicking into the blog either.
Likes and shares and comments and reblogs and follows are not page views. In fact, likes, shares, comments and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats.
Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.
Logged in visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606
You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here Dashboard > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”. That will compel followers who are not using mobiles to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.

Read the part above about the visitor count taking a few hours to update, visitor count is always a few hours behind – evens up a few hours after midnight for any give day
-
This isn’t just a one-person problem, as I’m seeing others reporting the same problem and am having that problem with 3 different blogs that I have access to. Visitor counts haven’t updated since at least 8:00 a.m. my time , and it’s now 3 p.m. my time.
-
Same problem. Visitors have not updated today. It is not the usual lag it just isn’t updating.
-
My stats have gone upside down since yesterday. I’ve been checking on the forum to see if others are reporting anything. While the visitor-count stays as is, the page-view count has more than doubled (not complaining :). One of the country’s visitor-count has unusually doubled.
For several hours today, the visitor-count was stuck at one point, until it moved all of a sudden.
There’s unusual activity with stats for sure.

Not site wide like last time – I just looked at my stats and they seem to be normal looking for today and the last few days (% of visitors vs. page views)
-
Having the same problem, stats are way way lower than usual, and people who have read and commented to me are not showing up, or at least their country of origin isn’t

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting regarding this error.
@blackaudio, I checked your stats for July 1st, and the country views align correctly with the overall number of views for the day. Can you let me know if this ended up evening out later on in the day?
As for everyone else, have your stats begun updating again? I checked the majority of blogs, and it looks like the stats pages were fully functioning. I think this may have just been a blip causing the stats not to update immediately. If you feel like your stats page is not updating properly, please paste a link to your blog and a note about why you think the stats aren’t correct.
@cosmapec2013 – I checked out your stats page. While the stats have been a bit lower over the past few days, it doesn’t seem like out of the norm after viewing your previous 30 day trend. In fact, on your “Weeks” view, it looks like your stats are climbing a bit as a whole.

Just posted a new blog and views/visitors seem to be back to normal. Also countries visited from is back up again. Will check as twitter/email/facebook comments come back to me.

Hi Mary,
I checked through your stats, and I didn’t see anything amiss. Can you let me know a few examples of where you’re seeing issues?
