you’re keeping my domain

Hello, I’ve deleted all my accounts with you. I didn’t want to – but I just can’t make your product work forme. The problem is you are holding on to my domain names:
rachellechinnery.ca and rachellechinnery.com even though I no longer have accounts with you. I’d like my domain names back. Thank you for helping out! Kind regards, Rachelle Chinnery

  • Hi Rachelle,

rachellechinnery.ca has never been registered or hosted with us. The registrar for that domain is key-systems.net, according to the public Whois database, so please contact them directly for any help regarding that domain.

The domain, rachellechinnery.com, was registered with us, but was cancelled today. Cancelled domains are not released immediately, but have to go through a redemption process similar to expired domains before they become available again for registration. For this particular domain it will be at least 6 weeks before it will be available again, though it could be even longer. There’s also no guarantee you’ll be able to register it again once it is released, as someone else could then register it before you.

We have no way to manually release the domain for you immediately as we don’t control this process – this is controlled by the registry that manages all .com domains, and they follow the rules laid down by ICANN, the organisation that regulates how all domains on the web work.

Because of this you should never cancel a domain that you still intend to use, as you might not be able to get the domain back or register it somewhere else later, as we also warned in the confirmation message we showed you when you cancelled the domain.

rachellechinnery.com is not in redemption yet, so I’ve emailed our domain provider to ask that they restore that domain to us. Once it’s back we can help you point or transfer it to another provider if you prefer.

  • Hi again,
