Youtube & Tags Are Not Working

I may be having the same problem. As of yesterday the embedded youtube function stopped working when I went to create a new post with it.
Normally the embedded link (from youtube) is modified when you save in WordPress. Right now, it appears that it does nothing and leaves it as the embedded code. In preview is still just shows code.
I tried a couple other random youtube videos to see if it was a one-off. They all had the same result.

mark, it’s the first post on my blog.
“Graffiti in Shanghai” -
Nothing shows in the search anymore. But you can always find your own threads by clicking on the word Member beside your name.
@tampasolar, What have you tried? What error messages do you get, and when do they show up?
-
wordpress youtube modifier no longer works. it just shows the embed code, and when i try to do it manually a blank spot shows up in place of the video.
-
Can you give us a direct link to a post where this is happening? And what exactly do you mean by “youtube modifier”? There are three different ways to put a YouTube in a WP.com blog:
square brackets
embed code
URL in Media Uploader -
-
Could you be more specific about the problem? We don’t have enough information to even guess at this point.

@tampasolar, try clicking on Tags in the tag list on the right of the main page. There are tons of threads about tag pages and so on.
@penny, have you tried the [youtube=URL] method? People report this works even when nothing else does. You need to get the URL from under the More button on YouTube, not from the browser bar, because they can be different.
-
No, it’s not just you penny. I can’t embed anything from YouTube. It needs to be fixed, as it is such a great feature of WordPress……….
-
How are you trying to embed? There are three different ways, two of which apparently work today.
-
Copy and paste the embed url. I said it was one of the best features of WP. I’m just saying it needs to be fixed. Tell me how to do it the other way.
-
I did, in the post above yours. Copy the URL under the More link, then paste it in using square bracket thusly:
[youtube=URL]
Or you can add the URL in Upload Media.
-
I’ll second the bracketed method. I always (still) use it. It’s fast, it’s simple and it always works.
