Youtube Channel Verification with WordPress

In the Advanced sections of the Channel tab on Youtube, there is an “Associated Website” section where you can put in your website and have it verified for the sake of branding. Is there a way to have this work with my wordpress hosted website “http://MahDryBread.com”?

For a bit of context if you aren’t familiar with the page on Youtube, It’s your usual “HTML File Upload” thing that Google Webmaster Central does. I’ve already used WordPress’s tools section to set up the site with Google, however this verification for Youtube uses the same process but specifically for the Youtube channel.

Youtube is my job so being able to verify my Youtube channel with my website would probably be a good idea. Any ideas?

    Hi @mahdrybread,

Just to be sure we’re on the same page, you’re following the steps here:

    Is that correct?

As you mentioned, it looks like this uses the same process as Google Webmaster tools. Does verifying your site with Google’s Webmaster Tools not allow you to add an “Associated Website annotation?” My understanding is that as long as the Google account is the same one that owns the YouTube account, this should be possible.

Nevermind, I ended up fixing the problem. It’s a bit silly so I’ll explain it for anyone who may find this with the same issue as me.

So if you’ve already verified your website with the google tools, it will instantly accept that website without verifying it in your Youtube page. It just doesn’t tell you ahead of time that it can do that. I got confused because I knew it asks for verification when putting in a site, so I thought it would ask the same thing when putting in this new WordPress page, but I hadn’t actually tried it since I thought it would do the same process. I probably should have just tried it to be sure first.

Regardless thanks for responding! That link you provided was what I was talking about. I hope this ends up helping anyone who comes by.

Thanks @mahdrybread! I’m glad you were able to get this worked out, and thanks for dropping the instructions for anyone else.
