Youtube Embed Changing Sizes
-
I have been trying to adjust the size of an embedded youtube video within my post, however it always defaults to a larger size. The correct size pops up for a second upon previewing, then immediately switches to larger size. I have tried changing the default video settings for youtube videos, I have tried just copying the url both the regular one and the link from the sharing tab in youtube, and I’ve tried using the standard embed shortcode. I have no idea why it keeps changing on me. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
The correct size pops up for a second upon previewing, then immediately switches to larger size.
What you describe suggests that perhaps your posts aren’t updating properly. Possibly a browser issue.
…and I’ve tried using the standard embed shortcode.
WordPress transforms the embed code into a shortcode. Is that what you mean?
Example:
The YouTube embed code
<iframe width="480" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lq6M42IKISo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
entered into a post or page content area and updated, becomes
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq6M42IKISo&w=480&h=360]
Regardless of whether you change the width and height settings at YouTube or after the code has been embedded in a post or page, the video should always play at the set dimensions. I’ve never seen embedded video dimensions change on their own, spontaneously. -
Correction:
Change “the video should always play at…” to “the video should always display at…”
