youtube embeds disappearing from drafts when edited or previewed

I’m fully aware of how to embed youtubes into my blog posts but there is a recurring annoyance that I am fed up with. As I know Staff monitor forum threads I’m posting what happens here.

If I either edit or preview a draft post prior to publishing it, and that post has a youtube embedded in it, the video embed disappears – code gone – evaporated into thin air! Therefore I have to put it in again. I’d like to be able to edit my drafts and preview them without having enter the same embed code more than once. This used to be possible until about a month ago. What happened? And, more to the point, how can this be rectified?

Which method are you using to embed them? The only way I’ve found that never fails is the square bracket method.

I used both and it made no difference … SIGH … :(

I just tried it, shortcode stays firmly in place no matter what I do. So, I can’t help – sorry!

Thanks you guys. SIGH my new approach will be to add the shortcode after I preview the post. Hopefully, that will work for me.
