seems like there’s a right bracket missing in the shortcode. Any chance you were switching between the Visual and Text Editors?
-
Hi Jennifer
all the posts were fine last night
and even when i go in and fix the shortcode (or completely re copy+paste it from yt) it just changes back to what you see?odd isn’t it…
:S

You are grabbing the embed code from YT (the iframe thing) and not the share code? Are you pasting it in the Visual or the Text Editor?
FWIW I’ve just tried pasting in both on my test blog without any problem.
Odd indeed!
What browser are you using?
-
using chrome…
yeah def using the embed code
so odd.
arrgggggg
just tried again
used the old wp code from yt
didn’t work
then used the normal embed code again
when post updated and showing on its own, its showing
when you click home and view the whole blog feed again
it’s back to as you see itwhat the f????
arrggg

That really is odd.
Video shows up in the single post.
But code on home page missing the right bracket (apparently).
Tagged for Staff attention.

Still tagged for Staff attention, so hopefully someone’s looking into it even if they haven’t posted anything yet.

Hi seedsone – just so you know, staff usually takes care of unanswered requests for help in chronological order, handling the oldest first – so bumping this thread earlier today actually pushed it further down in our queue. :-)
I’m taking a look at this issue now and will keep you posted.

Hi again – I’ve fixed your YouTube embeds back through October 31.
The problem was a missing
=sign in your embedding code. For example, you had something like:
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms4JLAKalYw&w=560&h=315]…but that should have been:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms4JLAKalYw&w=560&h=315]If you don’t need to specify a width and height, you can also simply place the YouTube link in its own line, without the shortcode, like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms4JLAKalYwMore about YouTube embedding here:

Just let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hi Kathryn
Thanks for taking a look and apologies for my panic/frustration
That all makes good sense
Except i was doing that (pretty sure anyway)
and it was reverting back to being wrong (as in without the =)
But whatever you did it is now all working so..Many thanks either way
:)S

If the problem comes up again, please let me know – I’m marking this as resolved for now.
