youtube html not working for text widget

  i’m trying to add a video to my sidebar using the text widget.

  i’ve tried using both the youtube embed code and the url for the youtube page, but the text widget just shows that text on my homepage–it doesn’t generate the youtube video.

  is there a way to embed a youtube video into the text widget (or any other widget)?
