youtube mislinks if playlist added
-
Bug report.
If in a comment,
one writes htt…www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWfKH2UlF1I&list=PL8FAF2ACB606BB8C0 it will wrongly link to the playlist, and not the video. Compare Facebook’s behaviour.Linking just to
htt…www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWfKH2UlF1I
on the otherhand causes the player not to appear. It just becomes a plain link.Seen on http://languageboat.com/2013/04/22/riding-the-mrt/comment-page-1/#comment-182
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s correct. Neither of those links will work because neither are configured correctly. Linking to the playlist doesn’t work at all in WP.com. To link to that video you must put
on its own line.
-
Observations:
1)Who would have ever guessed it needed its own line. So un-HTML like.
2)Facebook does not mangle a link to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWfKH2UlF1I&list=PL8FAF2ACB606BB8C0 like what happened above. -
Hmmm, maybe we can even observe it here,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWfKH2UlF1I&list=PL8FAF2ACB606BB8C0
if this doesn’t work I’ll just remove this comment… -

It didn’t, as this is a forum. And too bad I can’t remove that comment.
From the sticky post at the head of this forum:
Always be aware that you are posting to a public forum, and that forum topics may only be deleted if they represent a valid security or personal safety concern. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-code-of-conduct?replies=1
The good thing about these forum threads is that they are not deleted except as stated above. That means the questions and answers become a community resource and are available to us by searching. The side benefit is that as we all know the threads cannot be deleted we are all cautious about what we say in forum threads because Google indexes these threads instantly and everything we post remains forever indexed and cached.
