YouTube Monopoly
-
WTF?! Why is there a YouTube monopoly on WP? I understand that the team doesn’t want to deal with regional video services like Yandex Video. But Vimeo is also prohibited. Wherever you go, it’s only YouTube. Enough of that s**t! We don’t have options to insert java and scripts, and audio, let us at least choose the video hosting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Vimeo is allowed her as is a host of others:
Blip.tv
DailyMotion
Flickr Video
Google Video
Kyte.tv
LiveVideo
PodTech
Redlasso
Splashcast
TED Talks
Viddler
Videolog
Vimeo
Vodpod
YouTubeSee the “related” column to the right of the content in this support document?
If you can’t find something in the above that works for you, then perhaps you need to find a new host, yes? :-)

there are many options you can use in wordpress. First of all there is a paid service VideoPress : http://en.support.wordpress.com/videopress/
And the other services which you can use with wordpress shortcodes are :
* Blip.tv
* DailyMotion
* Flickr Video
* Google Video
* Kyte.tv
* LiveVideo
* PodTech
* Redlasso
* Splashcast
* TED Talks
* Viddler
* Videolog
* Vimeo
* Vodpod
* YouTubeRead all about them here : http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/

By using VodPod you can embed 98 percent of all the videos you can find. As long as there’s an embed url available at the site, that is.

Thanks guys. It’s just that last night a Vimeo video (I used the embed code from Vimeo) from Insired by Iceland didn’t open in my blog – only the words under the video. I didn’t know you have to play with some shortcodes.
