Youtube on sidebar?

  can i put a youtube video on my sidebar? how? thank you

  First do you have a wordpress.com hosted blog? Or have you down loaded software from wordpress. org ?

  This is important to clarify from the outset because the two run on different software and the instructions are different. If you have downloaded software then go to http://wordpress.org/support

  On a wordpress.com blog youtubes will not fit in the sidebar. They are too wide and if you try to cram one in you will bork your blog’s layout completely. You can put one in a post though. I typed “youtube video” into the FAQs searchbox and found the instructions for you http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/29/how-do-i-post-a-youtube-video/

  YouTubes are about 350 pixels wide. If your sidebar is that wide, it doesn’t leave you much room for blog content.

  You can put the vodpod widget in your sidebar and that will LIST YouTube videos, which then pop out to play.
