Youtube trouble?

  Hi all. I did read the thread about trouble with a new feature at youtube, but some time ago the thread was labeled as resolved. I’ve noticed today, that youtube videos are not showing up on WP blogs at all. I’ve checked my blog, raincoasters, and even the sample in the forum help FAQ about how to embed youtube videos (found at http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/29/how-do-i-post-a-youtube-video/ ) isn’t showing up.

  Does anyone have an explanation? Is there something I can do to fix this in my blog or is the problem larger? If I’ve missed the answer somewhere, just point me there. I really did try looking for a pre-existing solution before posting this.

  The FAQ example showed up for me fine and worked. What browser, browser version and OS are you using by the way? Is it still an issue currently? I would try the ever popular log out, clear your browser’s file and cookie cache and try again. Youtube may have updated their player and you’re getting a conflict.

  This happens occasionally and as soon as I use safari, it’ll show up. Sometimes, all I have to do is quite firefox and restart and they are fine. I have no idea as to the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of it but this is what works for me. :)

  Hmm, that would seem to verify the caching issue. Either that of a memory “leak” upon firefox’s part and it’s maxing out the memory available.

  I do see the video in this post fine and it plays in Netscape 7.2

  OK, thanks… you’re right, I should’ve done those things before asking. I guess I was just too quick to swear under my breath and thing youtube was messing with people again.

  I’m off to take care of that housekeeping now.

  Nah, it’s cool. Like you said, it didn’t work for you.

  I can see it using firefox 2.0.0.4 (re: occasionally – note the time)
