Youtube Video doesn't start at the time code I specify

  One of the bugs I noticed is that when I post a YouTube video which is supposed to start at a specific time code, WordPress seems to strip out the time code and it starts at the beginning of the video.
  Here’s an example.
  This link – [youtube=http://youtu.be/FIX6YUrMrDE?t=5m25s]
  is supposed to start at 5 minutes and 25 seconds, but it starts at the beginning.

  I’d like to see this basic feature added into WordPress.

  You’re using the wrong code. See this post of mine (the example I had used has been removed from YT but the code works):

  I’m not sure why WP doesn’t use the YouTube code, but at least I know a fix.

  You’re welcome.
  The code you knew (more properly with # instead of ?) is used to link to a point in a video. When you want to embed the video, you need the “start” parameter. That’s a standard embed parameter, not a WP whim.

  The method described in the WP tips blog post seems to have stopped working. Any ideas why? I have used it successfully since 2010.
