YouTube Video Flickers

I’m totally new to WordPress and just about to chuck it because I can’t seem to add a video to my post without it flickering like crazy. I am using a Mac with Safari browser.

More details would help with troubleshooting before you “chuck” WordPress.com after just 3 days. What is the address of your site? Does the flickering happen with just one video or any video? Have you ruled out issues with your browser or Internet connection?

Thanks for he response. My site is southernerinthenorthwest.wordpress.com and so far the flickering has been with the one video I tried to add to my post. I don’t really know what I’m doing yet, and I’m not the most techie person in the world so I don’t know how to tell if it’s an issue with my browser or internet connection. I will try another different video today to see if that makes a difference.
I did download the app onto my iPad, but I can’t seem to figure out how to add a video on that, either. Is there a tutorial anywhere?

I don’t see a video or much of anything on your site. Perhaps if you publish the post with the video embedded and view the site when not logged in it will display ok.
PS: Your front page shows an “oops”. Either you haven’t published the page you wish to display at the front or you need to set a front page (usually the blog page) at Design Customize Homepage settings.

themagicrobot, thank you so much for the link to the tutorial. I’ve been looking at it and it has helped tremendously. I didn’t realize that there were going to be ads interspersed in my posts, so that is definitely a minus in my opinion. Still on the fence as to whether or not I want to migrate my existing blog over to WordPress. I can see a lot of advantages, but so far the learning curve and the ad thing are two big minuses. I do thank you so much for your help. I have published one introductory post and am getting ready to publish another one, this time with a picture and hopefully a video. The video still jumps all over the place when I am on the unpublished post, but when I click on “preview” it doesn’t jump, which is strange but maybe it will be okay. Let me know if you have any pointers. Thank you again.
