YouTube video not showing

I searched and found how to embed the YouTube videos in a post. I did [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWzmsF58qNs], but it didn’t work. I then saw a FAQ which said I had to make the videos public, and I did. But, when I view my site, it still isn’t pulling up the videos. It is underhillfamily.wordpress.com – although it is a password protected site so not sure if someone can look and check… Any help is appreciated!

I tried to embed that link on a test blog and the video shows up in the post but it says “the owner of this video does not allow video embedding please watch this video on youtube.com”. I noticed when I used youtube in the past that the refresh of any changes (uploading videos, changing privacy settings, etc) takes some time on their servers. Either the settings have not changed on youtube servers or you did not change the correct setting on youtube.
Side note: I personally liked using Goggle video due to the privacy reason. All youtube videos are public (last i used them) and on google you can have more control over them for privacy since i noticed your blog itself is private.

How did you get on my blog to view it – or did you just look at it on YouTube? I just pulled it up again and it didn’t work, AND my sister-in-law tried it too!

OK, I just thought it might be two different issues. One is photo and one is YouTube. I’m just figuring all of this out obviously. Here is the other post:
I am also having a problem with photos… When I pull the site up, I can see the picture I posted, but two different people have pulled it up, and they say there is no picture and it just has the word “photo” listed… Any advice?

Was the photo uploaded onto wordpress using their upload (in the ‘write post’ page) or is it hosted somewhere else and linked in your post? Sorry for all the questions but difficult without seeing the problem itself since you have it all private.

I assume you are talking about the March 12th post. You are trying to put the picture link to your photos in your kodak gallery. There are two ways to put your images on a post.
1) Upload them onto wordpress and place a thumbnail or fullsize image in the post:

2) Make a link to an image already on the internet:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/16/how-do-i-link-to-other-pictures/#1 only gives you 50 megs to start with unless you want to buy the upgrade in space. #2 is for sites that allow you to link to their pictures (otherwise known as hotlinking and you can search the forums for info on that) Hope this all helps. you can remove be also by the way…i have enough blogs :)

I wasn’t planning on leaving you on as I said above. “I added you as a user if you can check it” – I only added you because you said you were having a hard time telling me what to do without seeing it. You are deleted…
Thanks for your help. I had to use Flickr for photos instead of Kodak.
The videos still aren’t coming up though… Anyone else have some advice?

Flickr sometimes has a setting that won’t let you hotlink pictures. Make sure they’re set to be shareable otherwise all you get is a tiny grey dot.

No problem sarahu23 I just didnt know if you knew I was still added. I saw you had the pics working and the video was showing in a couple spots earlier when I went on your site. The code works fine when I copy and paste it into a test blog of my own.
You can add me again and I can see if it’s your computer not able to view them or your blog.
