Youtube Videos
-
Hi again,
In the past few days or so I’m having a bit of a problem inserting youtube videos into my blog. I’ve been doing everything that I was doing before last week (when the videos were working) but now instead of showing the videos I’ve just got a big white space.
I think this has happened once before and people have said that the videos do actually appear, but I can’t confirm this myself. Would anyone mind just having a gander on my site and making sure that there are actually videos there and not just white spaces?
Thanks a lot :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Could you link to a post with the problem please?
It is easier to take a look and fix then. -
I think this is a Youtube change but can’t be sure.
Edit the post and look toward the end of the Youtube link. There is an NA? and then some characters. Try removing the ? and the rest of the ones after it?

Fixed – it was stuck on the old version. I deleted the dodgy link then re-added and it should look good now.
-
So what do I do when I want to put in new youtube videos? Will I just carry on as usual and it should be okay?
-
Carry on as normal but anything after a ? can be deleted, including the ?
I’m sure the coders here will be able to have that removed automatically but you can check just in case. -
I’ll give it a go – I’ve got another white space that needs sorting so I’ll test it on there
-
Um, not sorted. I’ll give you the link to the other one – luckily this is the only other one so far but I fear for my draft posts which have videos in them!
-
See if this works.
Edit the post, click the HTML tab and you will see:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9KJDRXXrB8?fs=1&hl=en_GB]
All the ?fs=1&hl=en_GB need deleting.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9KJDRXXrB8]
then save.Or:
Open the video at Youtube then delete the link you have in the post (Visual or HTML view). Copy the Youtube link again and use the ‘Insert Video’ button above writing area to get the video into the post.
See how you go with that?
-
Well the first one didn’t work but mercifully the second one did after a while of waiting for it to load!
Thanks for the help, it was appreciated! :)
