youtube videos missing

Today I seem to have a problem with viewing youtube videos. The video embedded correctly and yesterday I could see it, but not today. Just a big white space instead of the video. Actually today I can’t see any youtube videos on my blog.
No problem viewing on youtube.com itself.
Anyone else having this problem?

Usually that happens when your computer gets “overloaded.” It used to happen to me all the time. Cookie Dance always fixed it, if it included a full restart. Try that.

Nope, apparently something has changed on my computer that is blocking videos. I checked some other sites this morning (my time) after restarting the computer and it’s not only youtube, but a lot of other sites as well.
So, at least not a WordPress problem, but still dang annoying.

I’m getting an odd blank-page error on Facebook today when trying to view profile pages, and Twitter can’t show me my @’s either. The sheer amount of chaos going around the internet in the past four days is startling. Old-skool websites seem unaffected, but everything social media oriented is somewhat broken.

Well, phooee! How inconsiderate of them. I’m going to go do some dumping of files (like Gears) and see if that helps.

‘k, here’s the skinny. I dumped all the sites using Gears (but not Gears itself), closed FF, dumped not only my browser cache and cookies (which I do every time I close FF), but also XP’s temporary files, restarted my computer and voila! embedded videos have returned.
Crisis averted. Carry on.
