Youtube Videos not centered or full width (Isola Theme)

    Hi – embedded Youtube videos on my site (alienfiction.com) look left justified, instead of automatically centered (Isola theme)

    Have tried the following CSS, which seems to work (Ubuntu 14 LTS / Firefox 31.0) but seems clunky – and doesn’t work in the editor’s Mobile preview mode, or in small browser windows generally:

    span.embed-youtube, div.jetpack-video-wrapper {
	padding-left: 6em !important;
}

    The videos don’t seem to display full width, either ;-(

    Hi robhdylan,

    How are you inserting the YouTube video into your post?

    The way I do it and it seems to work is just by pasting the link on it’s own line in the visual editor. This formats it to fill the whole width automatically.

    Have you tried it this way?

    Ah, hello

    Yeah I use the &rel=0 command because it looks neater, so I always post the link in square brackets:

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMabEyrtPRg&rel=0]

    I’ve tried just pasting a link on it’s own line as you’ve suggested, but it still comes out left justified ;-/

    Thanks. I’m going to tag this for staff to follow up. I’m not sure why this isn’t working. I did see an older thread which was similar where they had to remove old max-width settings from the database manually. Not sure if this is the same thing or not.

    In the mean time you might also try setting the width yourself for the video to be as wide as you want. Something like

    Nice.

    Adding &w=640 does seem to solve the problem.. after spending most of the day removing square brackets and youtube= from 192 posts *phew*

    Just to let you know, there are other minor oddities – a large Block Quote mark on the front page under a post title (weird) and a largish text gap appearing underneath Gallery images:

    Hi Robert,

    Glad the video thing is sort of straightened out in manual labour kind of way.

    For the block quote it seems to be coming from http://alienfiction.com/2014/08/14/st-vincent-4ad-session-wallpaper/

    It looks like you have just the titles displaying through on the front page, but for some reason the blockquote is coming through.

    You could add something like 

    .home .entry-content blockquote::before {
  display: none;
}

    to get rid of it.

    For the gallery issue I think this should fix it up for you.

    .gallery {
    overflow: auto;
}

    Let me know how that works out.
