YouTube Videos Too Big

    I am using the surfarama theme and when I embed a youtube video it automatically fits to 100% of the page width. So when it’s not a blog post and has no side widget bar, it’s WAY too big. I’ve tried the following:

    Using YouTube’s IFrame Embed code with width and height defined such as:

    <iframe width=”420″ height=”315″ src=”//www.youtube.com/embed/anyvideo” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Using a <div> tag around the video code with it’s width/height defined to hopefully constrain the video’s size.

    Using wordpress’s default embed tag with the size defined, such as:

    [embed width="420" height="315"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anyvideo[/embed]

    I’ve tried a few other things that I can’t recall at the moment. But nothing has helped. I’ve messed around with the functions.php file and the style.css file to no avail (although my knowledge in that stuff is VERY limited so I could have missed something).

    Here’s the page with the HUGE youtube video on it: http://www.superprepper.com/basics-of-prepping/

    Almost to the bottom of the page is the video I’m referring to. Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

    Hello there,
    That is not a free hosted WordPress.COM blog. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and you are posting to the wrong support forum.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

    You are in the wrong forum and need to be at WordPress.ORG for help with that version of the software.

    I can read, you know. Why do you take it personally when someone else replies too?

    Well.. I learned something… I did not know that, thanks. I also learned not to piss off timethief :-)

    @raincoaster
    As you posted so long after I did I thought it might be a spam filter issue again.

    @johnwvg
    Hey there, I have two username accounts and use the same gravatar so folks know it’s me. Sometimes when we post an answer it ends up in the spam filter where it can’t be seen and that’s what I assumed may have happened above when raincoaster posted.
