youtube videos won't preview in email alerts

When I post a youtube video, I get an email notice like the kind that goes out to my followers. But in the email, the youtube video does not preview, in otherwords there is no image. How can I make a preview of the youtube video display in the emails?

The Youtube video is only embedded in your post, in other words, all that is actually in your post is a link to the Youtube video, not the video itself. The WordPress.com software converts that link into a playable video.
Email clients don’t have that ability, which is why any time you email a Youtube link to someone only the link will display and they’ll have to click on it to visit Youtube and view the video itself. The WordPress.com notification email won’t show a picture because there is no picture to show, only a link.
