YouTube’s “Add blog feauture” problem

I was playing around with my YouTube account when I came across an Add Blog feature, so I tryed it, but I came up with this. Anyone know why? PS: I thought of a reason why, but when I tested it, it didn’t work. Since my blog address (www.blogaddress.wordpress.com) is different from my username, I thought I would use my blog address instead of my username, that didn’t work. I’m registered with more than one blog.

An error has occurred. Message: Unknown
    Reason: <ProtocolError for wolf693.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php: 302 Found>

OK, I’m lost. You state that you used your blog address but what you’ve got copied and pasted is your username. Which did you use? Or did you use your blogaddress and what you got was your username? Care to give specifics?

if you did use wolf693, that’s not a blog here at wp.com. That’s why you’re getting the 302 error as the system tries to forward you to the signup page and youtube doesn’t know what to do with that.

Also your blog address is blogaddress.wordpress.com. Using the ‘www’ that was is incorrect as the ‘blogaddress’ takes the place. 30% of the net and all major search engine spiders won’t or can’t follow such a link.

Yeah, I went back and read it. I’m lost at it myself.

I followed Youtube’s instructions and used my username and password. They said that if you are registered in more than one blog that there would be a page that asks you which blog would you like to link to your account. That’s when I got the 302 error. I then tried my blog address (It’s different from my username.) I came up with an error saying that there is no such username.

    Hope this helps!

A quick test shows that it’s not working on Youtube’s side. I have a total of 7 blogs here and it’s only finding one when i try to add them in.

I’d submit a ticket to youtube and see if you can get someone to look at this.

You did choose the wordpress.com option, right? And not the self hosted version?

I didn’t know that EVER worked at YouTube. Got to try it myself.

YouTube customer support can be hit or miss, unfortunately.

Actually I was surprised to see both wordpress and wordpress.com in there.

Couldn’t get either one to work but it was a surprise.

Ugh, I HATE thier support. Oh well, thanks guys. I’ll just wait until it gets back up and running again!

It doesn’t really work. Never has. All it does is post a working link to the video at YouTube on your blog.
