You’ve changed the posting/updating/editing screens. There was a way I could revert back to the old ones but now I can’t find it. Help. The new ones just say they’re doing something but never complete an action.

Thanks, timethief.
Re. Add New advice. It will let me input a whole new post but it won’t ever save it. I will try one more time but am beginning to despair.
Re. sticky post. I read that stuff but it says the topic is closed and it doesn’t seem to help me. I’ve chosen the Classic but keep getting the New and now it won’t let me go back to Classic. Someone else says there should be a link in the top right hand banner but I can’t see it.

On your dashboard here http://bashfulbadgersblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php do you see this message with the link in the second sentence?
There’s now an easier way to create on WordPress.com! Switch to the improved posting experience.

Now I am getting that sentence with the link on bashfulbadgersblog and with the old editor. Hurrah! But if I switch to my other site to post, poeminawhiteribbedvest, it reverts to the new editor again. I’m in the middle of trying to preview a post but it doesn’t progress. I see from the other queries that the preview will be changing to actually show it as it will be on the page. Has that happened yet? Because I don’t see the point of it otherwise. I will check on browser and other details and post again. Thanks.

Ah, only if I access dashboard through that link. Otherwise it takes me to the new editor with no option to switch back.

I am using Firefox 12 – no option to update with current PC as it’s only running Windows 2000. I know. I know. I need new stuff.

WordPress.com supports the browsers and versions of them found at http://browsehappy.com. If you cannot update then I am sorry but you will not be able to access and use all WordPress.COM features and functions.

Sorry, the second blog is http://bashfulbadger.wordpress.com/2014/04/30/a-poem-in-a-white-ribbed-vest-2/

Nothing here is frozen in time and in fact many code changes are being made every day. That’s why it’s important to be sure our browser versions are updated.
-
Yes, I understand nothing stands still but the link you gave me for the bashfulbadger blog works okay and takes me back to the Classic editor. Could I not get the same thing for the other site?

Hi there!
If you don’t see the option to opt out of the new editing experience, which is located at the bottom of the sidebar on the right, you can open all posts in the classic editor by navigating to Posts in your dashboard and selecting “Edit” under the post you want to edit.
As timethief has explained, with such an old browser, we can’t guarantee compatibility and fully functioning services, particularly with such an old operating system.
Do let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.

Hi Shawna,
No, I don’t seem to have the sidebar. But I can edit posts using the old editor, you’re right. And if I go into an old post and then Add New, it takes me back to the Classic editor too. Thank goodness.
Thanks so much. Hopefully I’ll be okay for a while.
