I have a new wordpress blog : http://castele.wordpress.com and I would like to use the Yahoo Pingbox for the blog. The only problema is that the link that i get from the yahoo page does not help me, i go to widgets on my blog,, create a new one (text), insert the link, click save, but the widget does not appear…
Can anyone help me?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. Access this address: http://messenger.yahoo.com/pingbox/
2. click the “Create aPingbox”
3. select the themes that are to your taste and the content “display name” and the message while online / offline
4. click the “save”, and will appear in a new window that will ask for username / password yahoo mail account.done already … … and will show the codes of Pingbox ours.
then enter the code into wordpress Pingbox:
1. go to wordpress admin
2. click on “Appearance”> “Widgets”
3. Add Text Widget
4. title content
5. the large column, enter the code you had Pingbox get.
6. save and publish -
Thanks for replying, actually before asking for your help i had done everything just like you said. now i went back thinking i must have done something wrong and redid everything. and it’s the same story, one i hit the Save button the code i entered dissapears and i am left on my blog with the name Yahoo Pingbox inactive…
I know i must be doing something wrong but what?? :( -
I have same problem. did you get the solution?
if anyone know a solution please let me know.
or may be YM ping box is not available yet in WordPress…

Does the code have the word “javascript” or “script” in it? if so, it will never work here but be stripped out because of security concerns.
