Zero to Hero: Day Eight
-
I haven’t been very happy with my about page so I took inspiration from today’s challenge and tried something a little different:
http://trentsworldblog.wordpress.com/about/
What do you think? Too far out of the box? I still have old About up there, called About Part 2. Is the new better than the old? -
I am going to take some more time and review the 101 and 201 tips for creating my About page, but this is what I have so far.
-
Thank you @timethief for the Gold stars! Ok, I’m confused on the trash comment. I looked at the links you posted and can’t see anything on my iPad as far as removing the slug for the About Me page. I’ll read it over again.

Just updated my About page – hopefully it makes a little more sense now. All feedback welcome! http://domenicarose1.wordpress.com/about/

Thank you for all the productive hints. Reworked my About Me page in form of a storyboard.
-
Well guess what @timethief, I changed the About Me page and the 2 and slug is gone, but lost all my likes and comments. It’s a very sad day…LOL

@tjbarkerseattle
Forgive me for being confused about which thread I posted into. I have a lot on the go at this end of things (I’m working in our business) and I’m helping where I can in these Zero to Hero threads too. Do you mean this?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/zero-to-hero-day-eight/page/2?replies=70#post-1591002 If so, how did you make out? BTW never post your new username here in threads you post to in this username. -
@easygoingmama
If you did not permanently delete any post or page by going into the Trash and deleting it a second time there then you can restore it from Trash and when you do the likes will reappear.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trashI’m sorry my explanation of the “2” at the end of the About Me URL missed the mark. When we create a Page that page gets a URL like this one http://linkingloops.wordpress.com/about-victoria/
Now if you do not delete that page and only edit it the URL remains the same. However, if you were to delete that page and create another one with the same title the software would create this URL http://linkingloops.wordpress.com/about-victoria-2/
Note the “2” at the end of the URL. The software will provide that number because the post you deleted has not yet been permanently deleted from the Trash.
Items within your trash folders can be restored or permanently deleted within 30 days of their original trashing.

@timethief, I deleted the whole blasted page..LOL it’s ok as I’m new to this and still learning the ropes. Likes and follows are greatly appreciated but one cannot make that the focus of blogging. That was always a big thing on Facebook and Twitter. Oh look at me, I have so many likes and followers….haha! What fun -:) thank you again for all your help!

It’s great to see that so many bloggers are still in the game. I’m still working on today’s challenge, but I will have it done by the end of the night even if it kills me! (Or makes me tired. I like that one better.)

Yesterday I had done the header part and I posted a link here. Today I have done the second part of day-7 with pictorial tutorial. I hope everybody enjoys it

Kind regards to every one here and kind regards to everyone on the planet.

I revised and greatly reduced my about page: http://warrencbennett.wordpress.com/about/ I want to take the comments off below. Is there an easy way to do that or do I need to go through my whole comment section?

Kindly forgive me for a legging behind a day in this challenge.
I got stuck in frozen Niagara falls….
Just kidding to bring some smiles here.Regards once again.
