Zero to Hero: Day Four

  • Unknown's avatar

@authorelos, where are they supposed to be showing up?

Is you just want your site to show up as a pingback on the Zero to Hero blog post, your post from January 2nd did show up. At the bottom of the pingbacks section, there is a link Newer Pingbacks, and if you click to the 3rd page, I think it is, you will find yours listed at #28.

As long as you include a link to the Zero to Hero post in your post somewhere, and they accept it as a pingback, it should be listed there.

I had really cool experience visiting others. I tried to go out of my realm, maybe next time. However, was inspired a lot! I really want to think of a better tagline.

Have just been struggling to find out how to comment! Have managed my second post and also checked out some other Blogs. Great to find out about the Reader! My latest post is here http://wp.me/p4d8rD-k

I moved my zero to hero posts into my personal blog and I’m running behind when it comes to visiting as many blogs as I would like to. But tomorrow is another day. The posts are now at the links below as this is the blog I will be using for the rest of the challenge.

Seize the Moment Surrender the Outcome
    From Ridiculous to Ubiquitous
    Timeless Topics
    Applause Time After Time

@authorelos, it looks like you have a self-hosted WordPress blog, not a WordPress.com blog. Which is fine, Zero to Hero is open to all bloggers, but it does mean that your posts aren’t able appear in the WordPress.com Reader. That’s why the tag seems not to work for you — your blog isn’t connected to WordPress.com

As robmikemom noted (and as you’ve done) you can still create a pingback by linking to the main Zero to Hero page.

I loved reading so many different blogs today. I also feel so motivated to write when I’m starting to see feedback. I can’t believe I just posted my 100th post.

Let me guess, you want to know………

michelleweber, I knew you’d have the answer. Thank you. Looks like my moving to a hosting site not supported by word press wasn’t a smart choice. Oh well. I will continue to pingback my posts and continue on with the challenge. Thanks!

I’ve been in the WP community since November 2012. During my blogging journey, I’ve managed to find many amazing blogs!

I thought this task was great! found some great stuff.

I just found so many great blogs and topics. Some great inspiration for my blog. :)

I actually didn’t realise that you could follow whole tags, not just specific blogs, and they would pop up in your reader. Very much enjoying this challenge, as someone who’s been blogging for a while it’s very refreshing to learn some new things and find some new great reads :)

    I’m with cogitergomum

This is a great task for me. Time is short and my posts take a long time to write – I feel perpetually daunted when trying to engage with so many fabulous bloggers.

Just for the record, I already follow 15 topics and 127 other bloggers. I do my best to keep up, “chat with” (comment) and otherwise engage with the blogasphere, but there are only so many hours in the day!

    :>

Nice challenge. I narrowed down the topics I want to follow. This afternoon, I am going to have a look at the Zero to Hero blog entries and try and select one blog from each topic to follow. If there was more time in the day I would follow them all!

advance apology for length of comment…Started my first blog 27 dec. Just following as directed with daily task. I have pushed through the pain barrier of little technical skill and seem to be getting there.
I found the categories of blogs to follow…got a little carried away! I left a few comments and emailed a Journalist whose blog is about the Middle East. I found several travel blogs and an amazing woman with her contribution to making a difference. I did follow a FARE few cooking blog’s probably because Im trying to shed a few kilo’s!
Making contact is a bit like going to a party on your own where you don”t know anyone and my plan is not to sit in the corner waiting for someone to talk to me because I would like to join the conversation. Happy blogging people…

@415whisperer. I am glad it is not just me! I did find four great new blogs to follow yesterday. An unexpected thing to come out of this exercise is that I am going to unfollow some of the blogs I found when I started out. I feel really mean, but it has become too much of a daunting task, especially when faced with my Bloglovin’ feed every morning.
I am realising more now what topics I am interested in. The blogs I will unfollow are amazing – just not what floats my boat right now. I am wondering about following the creators of those blogs via twitter though, so I don’t loose touch entirely.
Let me know if you have any tips of blog reading and time management!

I love today’s task! I’ve already managed to find several new & interesting blogs to follow & interact with! :)

I do think though that the key to building an engaged community is sincere interactions. I blogged a bit about that in my post about today’s task: http://whythisbox.wordpress.com/2014/01/06/zero-to-hero-day-4-hello-neighbours/

Please feel free to stop by & share your thoughts & feedback with me on this topic of community engagement! :)

    Thanks & cheers, Danielle

This is such a good task! I didn’t realise you could follow whole tags so will definitely be doing lots more of this! I’d love to read new blogs and I don’t have time to search through all of them so if you follow my blog or leave a comment, I’ll check yours out too :D http://www.thevioletkey.wordpress.com

Useful task. Never thought of using blogs to find like-minded people who can motivate, inspire or teach me until today.

Anyone has good language/translation blogs to recommend?
