Zero to Hero: Day Seven

Ok. I understand, but I am not seeing in the text widget a way to link the source. I’ve tried everything I can think of and have even searched for different ways to do this via internet sources. Can you not link through a text widget?
-
You can create the link in a draft post first.
Then switch to the TExt HTML editor and copy the code.
Next open another Tab go to > Appearance > Widgets and get a text widget. Open it and paste the code into it. -
@timethief Thanks again….I searched some more and came across this via the link you gave.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-backgrounds/
I kept on previewing my various attempts and managed to home on that 1200 X 1074 was perfect to fit my chosen photo into the background the way I wanted.
Also I discovered my theme only supports one header….I already had put up one, that goes with my theme of experimenting with photography. I was experimenting with focus settings shooting mustard blooms at my place.
Appreciate all the effort you and all the Staff are putting into us becoming better bloggers. Thanks again!

Updated my header with a personal picture and took another stab at yesterday’s challenge. http://nextpagenewchapter.com/2014/01/08/tonight-i-can-write-the-saddest-lines-pablo-neruda/

Copyright basics for bloggers -
@timethief, Thanks. I didn’t know to try it that way. Everything I found was for a post or a page.

@camilladean
The draft post first workaround is very handy when you don’t fathom coding. You’re welcome but please do note what I said about copyright above. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/zero-to-hero-day-seven/page/2?replies=47#post-1588917 -
@timethief
Thanks again. I understand about the copyrights. I’ve looked into it and have followed the links to the original source and I believe I am ok. Thanks so much for your help. -
The help links to add a header and background were very helpfull. I really enjoyed playing with it. Below is my blog:
http://sanchitahobby.wordpress.com/2014/01/08/day-7-personalize-your-blog/It has really become better. With each exercise I am beginning to enjoy the look of my blog as well.

Creative Commons (CC) is also very helpful. In understanding copyright and also if you wish to protect your own blog content while still sharing the way you want. One can get a CC License at http://creativecommons.org/choose/ After choosing the lisence just copy the code provided in the textbox that’s below ‘Copy this code to let your visitors know!’ into a textbox widget on your own blog and put it up! I did it for my blog…

I have explained everything including image editing for header – explained with pictures….

@greetingsfromindia
This is a civil question that I hope will not give rise to any more trollish comments on my private blog. Are you basically rewriting the support docs and publishing the rewrites as zero to hero posts?

i have tried to add a background and i have tried to add a header but i don’t think it is an improvement to my blog.
So i have the header still up. if any of you could tell me if you think it would look better without the header or with the header i would appreciate it.Find my blog here.

So much information and resources from all of you regarding this challenge! Thanks! Looking forward to learning some new things tonight.
-
I already forgot that incident and nothing personal and very kind regards to you.
I am not looking anything anywhere. I am learning myself and showing my learning with images.From the remarks here I see people are struggling with text-widget. So I had explained that also with images.
support docs are everywhere on internet and I have not looked at them. I am writing for my own satisfaction. Remember that we are blogging and that means that we want to write what we want.
Blogging is what you want to do and I am doing that.Regards.
