Day Six — almost a week in, and everyone’s going strong!
Today, it’s time to put your publishing hat back on and publish a post — your choice of topic — that includes one new-to-you element, like an image, video, or other embedded media. (Or, if you’re a photo or art blogger, some text!) Complete details on the main Zero to Hero page.
Use this space as a place to ask questions and seek feedback from fellow bloggers, or just to talk about blogging, why you’re here, and how your month is going.
Please refrain from posting links to your blog unless you’re seeking feedback — this is a place for discussion. Given the number of participants and length of these threads, we are deleting comments that are simply links to make it easier for participants to have real discussions with one another. Instead, give your posts the “zerotohero” tag to enable other participants to find you.

I followed the instructions exactly to embed a photo from instagram. it didn’t work. then I went to the photo and on the instagram app there is an “embed” option so I even copied the embed code and pasted it into my post. didn’t work. I tried doing it as a media image (insert media) AND directly pasting the code into the text of the post . . . nothing working. what gives?

@birgerbird – If it’s just a link, you might need to remove the hyperlinking behavior. Click anywhere on the link to your image and click the unlink icon. It will look like a chain link that’s broken.

I was able to embed a video, finally! But I didn’t use the embedding code provided by You Tube. That didn’t work. I just copied the shortcut link and pasted it in my post.

@captureyouphotography – I believe she might be referring to Haiku poetry style tied to your photo (3 lines. First line: 5 syllables, second line: 7 syllables, third line: 5 syllables). Here’s a photo blog that has a Haiku with a photo: http://blog.atmtxphoto.com/category/haiku-photo/

@captureyouphotography — what daphne said! Simply that if you normally post only images, you might try adding some text, like haiku, as a way to guide your visitors through the images and give them a little more context. That’s just one possibility, though!

I learned how to embed a youtube music video too! I also got to do the daily prompt challenge and the zero to hero challenge in one post. :-D I’m so excited!!!!!

@captureyouphotography, from my understanding, that would mean writing a haiku to describe a photo so you can express one kind of perspective from the photo. For example, if there was a picture of a mountain top encircled by clouds, you could write a haiku about the mountain and the clouds.

Thank you! I learned something very cool today! No idea I could use Instagram code straight from the address bar, and I always wondered about embedding music (esp. Soundcloud links). I was also able to combine the weekly writing challenge into today’s post. So a double thank you!
