Zero to Hero: Day Sixteen
-
Ok I did do it right then I just thought that it was going to appear like the link code I tagged. Thank you.
-
I just feel that today has been quiet. @Timethief thank you so much for your help with that graphic editing links…
BTW. I used pingback for the first time today.. What is weird, I tag my new post “confession.. I am not a super mom” with zerotohero but I didn’t see it on the reader.. Would you please let me know what could have happened?
Thanks much! -
I see there are differing opinions on today’s task, well, I’m among those who liked it :-) I think that the topic of the daily challenge – “you” and your reputation – was very well chosen, considering that Zero to Hero is mostly aimed at (false) beginning bloggers. It’s a nice way to bring yourself closer to your audience. Which I tried to do.

I gained my not work -related reputation from my workplace, and by chance, here is my story:
Thanks for reading.

I poked fun at myself in this post.

Clearly, I had a lot of fun doing this. -
Another last minute one. I wrote about how your reputation varies depending on the person perceiving you. Mine is certainly the case. Check it out:
-
I wrote about my reputation at work and how it wasn’t always true. Read more here…

At first the prompt seemed dry and boring. And then I started writing.
Today’s post brought back memories for me and I remembered an example of reputation that still makes me smile today. Have a look :)http://branchingoutreachingtall.wordpress.com/2014/01/18/reputations-can-be-wrong/
-
@branchingmama, ah, the beauty of writing — once you start, you never really know where you’re going to end up :)
-
For some reason I could not wrap my head around this challenge. I’ve had lots on my plate and a grand daughter demanding my attention…LOL
I did visit several blogs on reputation and it made for some good readings. My two cents on the topic, I only care about what my reputation means to me, not anyone else. People tend to distort things anyway, especially when jealousy is involved.

I noticed that too. ;)
-
I found this prompt interesting but ultimately difficult to write. I do tend to be honest in my writing but don’t want to end up sounding self-pitying or self-righteous. I tried to get a range of honesty and humour in my post- just hope I got the right level.
-
I think that writing prompts are useful particularly when you are experiencing writer’s block as michelleweber has said. I blogged on this. If you are interested in Holiday and Special Occasion Writing Prompts and/or writing prompts beyond those appearing on your calendar here are dozen of more sources for inspiration. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/10/21/writing-prompts-and-scheduling-posts/

The word reputation can and is being interpreted in many ways and there are zero to hero bloggers publishing from different angles. I don’t have time to read all the posts and I could have missed one that is coming from where I have come from below but as I haven’t read one I’m posting it.
When it comes to online reputations it’s important to comprehend what you publish will remain online for years to come. Please read that again slowly and absorb it fully.
One may think that blogging f…ing this and f…ing that is real cool when they are in their twenties and recording sexual exploits and semi-nude or nude images, etc. are cool blog inclusions now but will they stand the test of time? I say the odds are that they won’t. Why?
Because without getting into detail there are folks informally called cybertrackers who are hired as consultants and their job is to track down and report your online reputation to prospective employers. They locate every scrap of digital references to you as well as what you may have published long ago and forgotten all about. Please do not assume you can hide much by using a pseudonym because we all leave digital breadcrumb trails.
-
P.S. For authors, business bloggers and professional bloggers
Although this zero to hero challenge is not aimed at authors, business bloggers and professional bloggers, please heed what I say above and if required get busy eliminating anything unappealing about you that currently exists. Then use reputation management tools to track exactly what’s being said about you, your blog, your products and your services online. The easiest free one to set up and use is Google Alerts.

I have been lurking around the daily prompts but have never quite taken a bite into them so today’s or well yesterday’s challenge was a nice ‘excuse’ to do so.
Ultimately my take on reputation after stripping all the facts is really just one line. Reputation
But I hope to write a bit more on at least two a week in the future :)

@evamarasca, glad you finally jumped in! Feel free to grab a “Post a Day” or “Post a Week” badge for your blog if your committed to regular blogging:
