@timethief, thanks so much for the heads up on the blogroll photos. You always have so much great information! I’ll check this all out -:)

You’re welcome but I sense I’m a wee bit too technical for you beginners and I don’t want to put you off blogging, while michelleweber is working so hard to hook you. lol :D -
You’re spot on for me @timethief! I adapt quickly and want my blog to look clean and professional. Nothing worse than a cluttered up blog, makes me want to rant….LOL but I won’t.
@michelleweber has been fabulous! I’ve learned so much that my brain might explode-tehe!

I’m going to try the blogroll for a bit and see how it goes with my blog. My purpose is not to necessary get reciprocal link, but to show my readers valuable content.
I limited my blogroll to 3 blogs, just because I don’t want to clutter my sidebar.
My blog is certainly a work-in-progress. As I’m sure it is for everyone.
Feel free to let me know what you think.

Bit of feedback on my blog would be nice. Preferably on the last 2-3 blog entries.

@timethief, I did it! I changed the theme and cleaned it up. Even did my own header..LOL
Your thoughts please :-) thank you!

Kknow that we have less than 6 seconds and usually only 3-4 to hook anyone who clicks in before they click out again. That along with the fact that page loading time is a page ranking factor is why reducing page loading time is important.I strongly prefer this Misty Lake theme to Spectrum, however, it didn’t make much difference to reducing page loading time as you are still displaying full posts and you have images displaying before the text.
Your website is faster than 61% of all tested websites http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cNTVAK/http://linkingloops.wordpress.com/If you really want to reduce page loading time then edit your posts and provide a “teaser” or introductory paragraph with “a hook” followed by the insertion of “the more tag”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ After inserting “the more tag” on a single line all by itself embed the image and consider using text wrapping.
See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignmentThe alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.
Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).

Agreed – she rocks!

Done in part…Have create ‘The ClickRoll’ for my photography interest links , ‘The ScrollRoll’ for all the bloggers tickling my funnybone time to time & ‘The ChefRoll’ (I think food photography can be interesting as well as rewarding :D) Further refinements underway for later….

@birgerbird
Also I don’t want my gravatar appearing on my latest post “written by.” where do I go, in which settings, to change this option.???
Gravatars don’t appear on Posts. They appear on comments. There is no such setting and I don’t know what you are referring to.
Please take screenshot of what your are referring to, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so michelleweber can examine it and help you.
-
@timethief, oh drats! Back to the drawing board…LOL I’ll get it right eventually.
Thanks again! -
@easygoingmama
You are on track now and have very few posts to edit and insert “the more tag” into. I think you will be glad you did this now because it’s a formidable undertaking when you have to edit hundreds of posts. -
@timethief
Your input on the more tag was i.n.v.a.l.u.a.b.l.e
I am off now to update all my ( handful…) posts to make my home/archive pages look neater…..thanks!@michelleweber
I agree with the linkingloopslady…you’ve been awesome! I AM hooked thanks to you… -
@timethief
I am happy with the theme change and less cluttered blog. It looks so much better. I’m still a firm believer of “less is more”.I’ll keep tweaking it -:)

So many choices….seems like there are many with very concrete opinions.
I used to have the “blogs I like” widget, but that just added everybody from the people I follow. If I add somebody to my blogroll I want them to be relevant to my niche of mental health and update often. I plan to revisit this feature weekly, as I am always adding blogs to my follow list.
It takes a little work to add the links yourself, but it’s really worth it
Question: What is the best way to display these links? On the sidebar, footer or a links page? It there a way to create a page that auto-populates and updates your list of links?
I have the blogroll pretty far down my sidebar and I don’t think it will get much love there.

I am off now to update all my ( handful…) posts to make my home/archive pages look neater…..thanks!You’re welcome. Note that your website is faster than 70% of all tested websites http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/cc13zc/http://lenzexperiments.wordpress.com/ and using an opening paragraph ie. teaser text of 55 words or less with “a hook” will mean your blog loads even faster than that.

Hey you guys sorry I’m late but somebody went against my wishes and let my wife into IKEA despite the barring I had placed on her that doesn’t let her in within 100 yards of the place. So now I’m broke…and so is the furniture!
Anyway blogroll? I already have a page setup for people to go when they’re bored and have a few minutes to waste. It can take them to cool websites i like as well as learn some stuff. I call it ‘The Bored Room’ Get it? Cause its like the board room but…ah you get it! So do I really need a blog roll?
