Zero to Hero: Day Two
-
This was a great idea. I already had a blog name and tagline that I loved but I only had the tagline in my blog header image, not in the General Settings. Made that change and also added a few “Text” widgets to my sidebar. My text image isn’t quite so fancy but its there and I really like the idea of having that additional text and customized titles.
Any feedback is appreciated!

I did not do an About widget, as I hoped my Tag cloud indicated the wide range of topics I write about. Would you have a look, and comment there on whether it might draw you in, or whether it is just a blue mass over which your eye passes?
I have two tag-lines, one invisible- white on white- for search engines, indicating some of my topics, and one painted on my header-photograph, to interest human readers. I started discussion on my tag line on my latest z2h post, and would welcome comment.
Would it be good to have nested/threaded comments here? I could reply to someone four pages back, and not be noticed. I would like z2h as a separate blog, with a new post for each daily task, and a moderated comment thread under that to discuss the task and how we got on with it.

Ok I tried to comeup with an header and tagline. Im sure about the words but not about the font or logo. But for now i leave it like this. I already had an about widget with picture and everything. Suggestions about the title or tagline are more than welcome!

I want to use my blog as a sort of journal to record my thoughts on my interests and share them with other people.
I just changed my title and tagline, and added an about me widget.
Take a look and please give some feedback.

Lot of interesting posts here!
Here’s mine – explaining why I chose to name my blog “A peek into my mind”
Thanks!

I already had a Title and a tagline. I am not too sure about the tagline though. Have it up there until I can think of a better one. I’ve added a text widget as a part of this activity. My theme allows that to be displayed right at the bottom of the page. Your feedback and suggestions are important :)

Okay, I’ve done my homework.

I also need to be more vigilant about getting into this conversation, but hey secretsanta605, I love the look of cluelessscribbling… since I feel like that’s what I do, too, I’ve decided to follow along.

I’ve updated my tagline and added a text widget that hopefully gives a better view. Please have a look at my post / page and let me know if I’ve hit the mark or not!

I can’t figure out how to reply to a specific post. This is for secretsanta605: The first part of your tag flows nicely, the second half feels cumbersome. I get what you’re saying though. Sorry I don’t have any suggestions to make it flow – maybe that’s the idea? Your text widget doesn’t appear – I see Blogs I Follow, Archives, Posts I Like and Tags. The herotozero gif and a follow as well.

This is the first time I am participating in something like this and I’m not sure if I’m looking at this challenge the right way. For the past two challenges I keep thinking my little two-lines title and tagline summed it up (lol!). Is it necessary to go more in-depth… Am I missing something? Any advice on this would be appreciated, please check title and tagline at http://juliaspeak.wordpress.com/

So again I have already created an about page, http://youknowwhatimthinking.com/about/. I’m looking forward to day 3!!

I’ve wasted far too much of my life trying to embed the Zero to Hero image on my home page. Hours I will never get back. I have added a text widget and should probably delete my “About” and “About Me” pages. I bagged using the “About Me” widget as they want my name. I blog anonymously so I can grouse with complete abandon about family, friends, job etc. I avoid linking to social media for the same reason. In any case, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am receiving emails by the second! I like your blog

Hi! I really thought it’s important to have a clear tagline about our blog. That’s one thing that I created on the first day I started blogging (which is just in November 2013).
The name of my blog is http://www.dreamtravelmom.wordpress.com
and the tagline is ‘travelling with teens’.Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

I did follow the directions and added the About.Me widget which this morning I promptly got rid of since it took away my header which I really liked. I did get a chance to revisit my about page which was good and I did keep the About.me page but it’s not on my blog widget anymore. I guess I’m inexperienced as I had a hard time finally figuring out why my header was deleted and wouldn’t reappear. Persistence finally won out and all is how I like it now.
What do you think?

Hi I would love some advice please! I started my blog and it was going really well – lots of posts that were lighthearted and fun, all around one main topic really (never accidentally marry a gay man Parts 1-4), but then I posted one that was much more serious (part 5), and for which I got brilliant feedback. I feel at a crossroads now really, in terms of my style. Do other bloggers feel as if they know their style, or is blogging perhaps a way of trying out different things and testing the waters? Once I had reached the crossroads the well ran dry because I feel as if I lost some confidence! I am hoping the http://dailypost.wordpress.com/zero-to-hero/ will make me focus again – I simply love writing, but I need to find a voice I think.
My blog is http://whatwouldkirstieallsopdo.wordpress.com/ and I would really like your feedback
Thanks

Hi, all! Really enjoying watching everyone think through their “about” widget — a good one can do so much to draw people in.
One clarification, for a few folks — you’re not adding the “About.me” widget, you’re simply adding a “Text” widget and putting in your own text.
The About.me widget pulls information from your profile that you might not want on your site. In a text widget, you control what appears.
Carry on!
