    My blog title is
    I-M an Immigrant Mommy…. I-M is abbreviation for the “Immigrant mommy” so it is kind of play on words…. What do you think? Is it too confusing?

    My tagline is “A colorful journey through life in America”

    I did the “About this blog” I would like to put a picture like the example but I can’t … It keep showing up as broken link icon :-(
    How can I do it the right way?

    Here is the “About this blog”

    I’m glad you are doing this.
    5 years ago when I started my first WP blog, I made so many trial and error mistakes.
    Great help and nice to meet so many new people

    The title of my blog, Cogito Ergo Mum, came to me before anything else – before the ideas of what I wanted to write about and even before I knew I wanted to blog. It is the title that has provided the focus of the blog.

    I worked a lot on the tagline before Christmas. It took me ages to come up with – as long as any post I have ever written. It is so simple. But does it work? I don’t know what you think, but currently I quite like it.

    I added a widget of my Gravatar (I think!) rather then a text widget with a couple of lines about me.

    I am now quite pleased with these aspects of my blog, but I would love to know what you think. Here is my home page

    I’m one of those tumbleweed-strew folks. I started my blog in 2011, and then wrote a few entries and then stopped. But, since I’m pursuing full-time writing, I want to get myself out there. So, my blog is about my writing career, but also leave it open for me to write about my personal life if I want. But, I’m happy with my title: TheVagrantWriter. It’s been my e-mail address since college, and I’ve used it as a pseudonym/pen name a few times. But, my tagline was a bit more difficult. I kept it simple: “a blog about writing and life.” I think that sums up what I’m trying to do.

    I’m set on my title and tagline, just finished working on my about me widget. I also made an about me page that elaborates a bit more.

    I know this is not the place to ask this.. But I really need some crazy assistance.. up until I want to say monday.. When I would go into the writing a blog page I would get media recommendations, Related Blog Recommendations and even tag recommendations.. Can anyone tell me where these have gone? Did I do something in my settings to take these away?

    I’m hoping my title is pretty self explanatory ‘Charlotte’s big Inca Trail Challenge’ it’s all about my cats :o) Although I could talk about my cats all day long, it was intended to be all about the charity challenge I am taking on next year, trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. After finding lots of fab blogs through this challenge I think I may need to diversify and blog about other topics too, but the main focus is my charity challenge. My tag line seems to have disappeared with the new theme I am using, when it is visible it reads ‘Join me on my journey as I prepare for the biggest challenge of my life’

    I’m like cogitoergomum- the name of my blog, ‘spinstapink’, came to me a long time ago. I like it because it’s kind of vague, but has a lot of play to it- ‘spinsta’ as unmarried woman, ‘spinsta’ as a crochet fanatic, ‘spinsta’ as a spinner of tales. What do you think?

    Before creating this new blog I:

    • Determined the niche and who my target audience will be;
    • Determined if I will blog under my given name or a pseudonym;
    • Assessed my competition;
    • Determined my purposes and and goals.

    I then registered the URL, created the Site Title and Tagline:
    timeless topics: inspiring personal development quotations

    The best SEO strategy is to insure your blog’s URL site title and tagline contain keywords (products and/or services) (topics, concepts, themes) that define your blog’s intended brand. The rule of thumb is to select a unique, short name and URL that are easily remembered. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/08/02/top-5-site-title-tag-tips/

    The best SEO strategy is to insure my blog’s tagline is effective and will be fully displayed along with the Site Title in the SERPS (search engine page results). Creating an effective blog tagline

    Due to the Day 2 Task in the Zero to Hero challenge I re-visited my blog title and tagline and created an About this blog widget. I didn’t make any changes to the Site Title. However, I did make the Tagline shorter.

    This is what’s displayed in the SERPs now and it reflects the first Tagline I chose: https://www.google.ca/?gws_rd=cr&ei=3QLHUuSyN8neoASj9IGAAw#q=timeless+topics:inspiring+personal+development+aphorisms+and+quotes

    The result of reducing the character count in the Tagline was a combined length of 57 characters in the Site Title and Tagline. The change is not yet displayed in the SERPs but I trust it will be.

    When I registered the URL, created the site and Tagline I was focused on relevance, clarity, brevity, and SEO ie. what would be displayed in the SERPs (search engine pages results).

    1. The keywords I selected for the URL and the Site Title don’t have to be the same but when they are they are more powerful in terms of SEO.
    2. The keywords in the URL, Site Title and Tagline clearly express express what my blog is about.
    3. The combined length of the site title and Tagline are short enough for Google< Bing and other search engines to display both in the SERPS (search engine page results).

    Now I’m off to make a new header image to reflect the change and to publish another post.

    Still having fun. :)

    The title of my wife’s and my blog is Our Blended Marriage because we are a blended family in more ways than one. Both coming from two very separate and distinct cultures; as well as both having gone through divorces. The tag line is Cro-Am Ex-Pat Blog because I am currently the Ex-Patriot as we live in Croatia; but when we go back to the USA, she will be the Ex-Patriot. Please feel free to come and visit.

    About two years ago I created http://lipglossandabackpack.wordpress.com. I picked the name because I planned to blog about beauty and travel, and those two things go hand-in-hand for me. After a year I purchased the domain http://www.lipglossandabackpack.com to make it look more professional (I bought the domain on GoDaddy and pay $13 annually to WordPress to have the domain point to my site).

    I recommend checking to see if the .com version of your site name is available, in case you later want to simplify your address. Also, be careful with spelling, grammar and capitalization in your blog’s title, tagline and description!

    I have a question about the text widget. I’ve created it and it shows on my blog site, but I made a spelling error. When I go back into widgets to correct it, the text widget (the actual widget) doesn’t show up with all the other widgets. Did I do something wrong?

    My blog title and tagline are actually something I say a lot to people, so it seemed to be a fitting. Not sure how I feel about the “about me” yet, I’m not a fan of writing about myself!

    So I had a title and tag line that I was already happy with, but I did the “About me” text box. I’d been wondering how to do one of these for a while, so was happy to have this guidance. Thanks! I might still play with the text a bit – but the general idea is there. I’d love any feedback: http://babygatesdown.wordpress.com/

    @Jillian Martin – As for suggestions for name and tag line – always tricky. For me, I went the “life stage” route with a tie to what I planned to write about – eg: Baby Gates Down – mainly parenting issues + other stuff that that stage of life; but beyond the baby years. As for tag line (Gave birth. Totally transcendent. Moving on.), a bit tongue in cheek – but to tie to the “not a baby blog” idea and give the idea that there is still more to me and life (at the moment) than parenthood and so blogging is trying to capture a bit of that.

    Don’t know if going through a similar thought process as to where you are writing from at the moment might help you make your choice?

    This is going to be a bit of a tough one, as I stated in my current about page I’ve never really been good at naming things. I do like the slight sense of oddity the name has.
    The tag line could use some work I’m sure. I’ll give it some thought while at work tonight. Hopefully inspiration will come. I would welcome suggestions.

    I always loved the way people decorated their blogs with widgets. Today as part of this event I learnt how to use widgets. Thanks for the guidance.

    Hi! I wrote a post in response to today’s prompt – and sent if off, with the ‘zerotohero’ tag attached; I am not sure, however, whether it has reached its destination!
    Sorry if this sounds a bit (or a lot!) stupid – but my grasp of the finer points of technology is a tad hazy – and I may, inadvertently, have sent my precious ‘baby’ to the cyber version of Papua New Guinea…
